  1. Milinda I think your question answers itself But as tuktuk says, if both racers agree to the challenge, then what can we say right? Its just ugly when any sport becomes too personal. And yea I'll be interested to see the result as well. Good luck to them both.
  2. Well Dilesh, IMHO(not that it would count for much here) there's no point trying to answer that question via a drag race, because the rich kid in the Ferrari will almost always win. (unless he's racing something more powerful of course ) But Sri Lanka doesn't have that abundace of supercars and so the owners of the modified JDMs take their rides very seriously, but in the end, the faster car will almost certainly win. And that means the cars whose owners can afford to put in some serious modifications. On the other hand I dont think any members are boasting about the modifications here, so that's a good thing- their opinions on other people's mods aren't my business. I'm just thinking the result may not always be a fair judgement of talent. A guy driving a 900cc Maruti may be a real racer, while the guy driving the ferrari may be a real moron. The maruti owner will be financially held back, and can't afford to get serious in competition, although his love for racing and talent is there. But is a race between their two cars(specially in Lanka where so many are financially held back wen it comes to car mods) ever going to tell you who the better driver is? I think not. What about you? Best thing to do would be to get down some 6000bhp dragsters and find a track to run them on Then we can see who the real racer is. Don't let the car be the standard by which you judge the driver.
  3. Feel free to do so, you're just one short of the magic 100 at the present time
  4. HAHAHAHA are you serious Now that's a sight I wish you got a photograph of Glad everything was ok there though, best not to argue with drunk cops, at this rate you might be dead before you know it.
  5. Here's to our ethical and efficient Police force (the policeman is the guy on the right in this emoticon). And remember some years ago when they tried to shoot at the tires of a 3wheeler that didn't stop at a checkpoint, and ended up shooting the driver through the head? I'm not sure if that was the army or the police, but that officer was found to have been under the influence as well.
  6. Exactly None of that quality crap on this thread, we all know we're postwhores at heart
  7. Aren't we all guilty of it? How many people here can say they have 100% quality posts? and how many here REALLY can say quantity doesn't matter ?
  8. But whats to be done about it man, we don't really see very much automotive related stuff in here these days. Was quite happy to see the question about tyres really. Even though the "general automotive" section has the most topics at first glance, I was looking at "other" under specific makes, to see its packed with 120+ topics, not many of which relate to motoring in general, which together with the real "other" section adds up to way more than any motoring category(Am i making sense?). And all the topics regardless of which category, fly off at a tangent after just a few replies, and sometimes come full circle after about 7 pages It's funny but its also weird. Apart from removing the post counter (the horror ! ) I wouldn't be able to think of a solution. Surely Sri Lanka hasn't got fewer cars and car problems since the old forum days now has it? And yea I'm guilty of postwhoring quite a bit
  9. Please, say postwhores' posts, it looks funny otherwise
  10. I loved the old forum, but this is better. Nicer layout, ,and this post count thing sure gives some people an incentive to post eh Can't say we saw this much digression in the old forum but who cares right
