Event is open to the general public. No roll cage or Competition license required. Only a valid Sri Lankan Driving license and Helmet. Will update you on when the entry forms are out. Latest Update - Defence Approval was received today! The drags are a Go!! : ) please log onto the CMSC group and be updated on the forthcoming regulations...

The latest update is that there will be a 'Hybrid' and 'Classic' Class for the event. As such Lexus and Porsche Hybrid's will be able to take part. Also a designated Classic car class will be announced shortly.

Colombo Drag Racing (Official CMSC Event), Green Path, November 5th. Entries to be open for the Public by the 10th of October 2011 and close by the 1st November. Individual Timing's to be done from 5th Morning for the top 16 places in each class. The 16 top times in each class will run each other in an elimination format at the Main event. The main event will begin from 10pm onwards. Christmas Tree starting light's and official Timing equipment to be used. The Drag's will incorporate stalls with entertainment and food as well. Racing will take place on one side of green path with two cars against each other. The other side will be for spectators, food and the Paddock. It will be a Festival of Speed. The Drag's will be an OFFICIAL CMSC Event. Saturday, November 5 at 8:00am - Sunday, November 6 at 2:30am

Rizvi managed to hit a lamp post and was taken out in the 5th stage... Ishraq broke a CV joint and then his axle in the 5th stage... Ravi suffered from issues also... shirendra blew his turbo on the 4th stage and we managed to cut our oil filter from a broken sump bracket after the jump... hence retiring from the rally after running only 3 stages... lets hope pelwatte is better : )

The car's will be located near the swimming pool entrance area... the reason for the delay in the 355 is due to the weather... there is a problem with the soft top and is currently kept down... therefore even though the area is covered we cant take a chance today... might have it for tomorrow or Saturday.... ShintaroX, i dont think u know me well enough... i don't do ruse's and child's play on this forum... i have organised super car meets before (check the autolanka gallery) and wouldn't post it up here otherwise... cheers!

Hey Guys, Just wanted to know if anyone is going for the fair this Thursday, Friday and Saturday? All you motor heads and photo enthusiasts should know that a small display will take place at the fair. The Cars scheduled to be on view are quite nice so giving a heads up to everyone. cheers!

No machang...this went down last saturday...that is 2 days ago.... the 20th thing is being organised by forum members for their drags...

It was a good night on saturday... evo vs starlet, evo vs STi and starlet vs STi and some other run's... for obvious reasons im not gonna tell who's cars or where it happened....but for those who personally know me, well ya'll know my number to call : )

the drags have been happening discretely for some time now : ) tonight is no exception... if u boys wanna head out to colombo tonight u should be entertained... but otherwise have fun next saturday too... only prob is that its the sl vs aus match day... most of the crowd i know are headed to the game and out partying after... cheers and have safe fun guys : )

The initial speed limit will be set at 100kmh and then subsequently increased to 120kmh within two years. The point being for motorists to learn about highway driving and entry/exit methods. Certain section's of the highway have 70kmh/90kmh limits due to curves or narrowing of lanes. The estimated time to Galle is 1 hour whereas the highway was built for a 45min drive at a 120kmh speed limit to Galle. The eventual idea of the highway is to wrap around Sri Lanka BUT that is a 15-20 year projection. Just so you know.....
