  1. It could well be the same Sarath as he is not attached to Roy. He has a paint shop closer to Kiribathgoda town. I went to the shop and the work in progress cars there seemed pretty good.

That's the guy..I've seen his work and it is indeed very good.My father knows him well and speaks highly of him too.

You in SL?...Drop by if you're passing Kiribathgoda.

  2. Hmm I do know a painter called Sarath but I'm not sure if he's attached to Roy.It's Ranga(tinker) I know well...Anyway yeah have a look at a few cars he has done.See if they have ripples and dull areas.More than the paint itself its the prep work that most painters get wrong.

  3. I was wondering if there are chatter box cars after seeing this thread. Real watti amma type cars.

Yup I came across this old Trans Am that wouldn't shut up.It kept going on about engaging "turbo boost" and when I told it to shut up it started crying and asked for Bonnie.

  4. TV Series

The best British comedy series by far, is not Mind Your Language or Yes Minister or Mr. Bean, but this one... Sadly it was never shown on Sri Lankan TV.

and Keeping Up Appearances is another superb British comedy

Once you watch these, you will never go back to your Big Bang Theory or Two and a Half Men.... guaranteed. Seriously I don't find anything funny or interesting in Big Bang Theory.

Agree.American comedies on the whole are rubbish.Modern Family is decent but nothing special. The Office was good but as always the British version is better.

    Of the British comedies I watch/watched.The Inbetweeners,Outnumbered,Black Adder,Fawlty Towers,Monty Python.That Mitchell and Webb Look...

  5. Ah okay thanks then il say no to this car as well :)

Dude all jokes aside.Do not reject a car just because it has high mileage(according to your standards).Few of us here have vehicles that have done more than 350000kms that are running as reliably as any car .You got to look at the car as a whole and then make a decision. As kavvz so rightly pointed out good luck finding a 15 year old car with less than 200k on the odo.

  6. Turn the clock back to about 90,000 and you are good to go.

LOL...you can turn back the clock with layers of cataloy/makeup.but on the inside everything is still soft, mushy and hanging loose. Also you'll be lucky to find one with the pumps still working.

  7. So I posted my 'wanted' advertisement in some satellite forum... Just posted out of desperation and a guy replied me saying "Im lucky and to call him"... my instincts say this guy is messing around... but then again we never know whether it can be true or not even if its real :/

  8. Even if German Tec was starting courses its really hard to get in.My cousin had to do a lot of politician ass kissing to be selected...Didn't do him any good though.Bugger graduated and all but he's still a massive idiot. No imagination whatsoever.

I think D*MO has similar academy.

  9. On the other hand....

I happened to get the disc pads pasted on a Mondeo sometime ago (because it was a hassle looking for original pads). As I was driving down Nugegoda Kandawatta road few days later, the pasted asbestos thingy just flew off. Luckily it was in the city and not a road where one can drive in high speeds. That was the last time I got disk pads pasted.

An average car's pad set costs about 5000 bucks. For the Cerato, its 3500. Pasting costs about 2000 bucks so it doesnt make much sense to paste them to save a paltry 2000-3000 rupees.

There are places who do a better job at it than others. As VVTi said the place I go to has this whole baking process.Up untill now never had a single failure.

What you say is true.If it's your family car it's always better to go for new ones. For me it makes sense cos for the lorries when I add everything I get a significant saving.

  10. That's definately an adult asiatic male looking at a screen or some guages.A Chinese guy driving a Chinese train makes more sense than a child in the engine compartment. It's not unusual for foreign companies to send their own engineers to train the locals and help them get accustomed to the machinery.
