  1. Hi experts, I own a Mazda Familia BHALP (1996, i.e Butterfly model). When I was driving on southern expressway a slight whining noise in 5th Gear. When I downshift the gear to 4th gear the noise eliminates. The noise begins whenever I shift the gear to 5th and accelerating. If I release the gas paddle the noise stops. I think this is due to a worn bearing or something. What do you guys think?
  2. Hmm.. I also agree with this. If this happens you are not continuously getting the expected output.
  3. Hi, I don't have answers to all the questions below but I'll try my best to answer some of them. I think this depends on the car. Different car models have batteries of different capacities, the alternators are different so I don't think you can estimate a value for that. My Mazda BHALP charges it's battery within 30 mins and I can see a reasonable battery voltage after that. Well, In cars we have lead acid batteries. The gravity (The specific gravity in more accurate terms) of the acid gets changed while charging and discharging. As this diagram shows the specific gravity and the cell voltage gets down when the battery is getting discharged. When it is charged the gravity gets increased again. Generally the batteries are charged using a little higher voltage than the battery voltage. The theoretical potential difference of a battery cell is 2.2V and you have 6 cells in your battery so the ideal potential difference might be 13.2 though it is marked as 12V. So generally alternators generate voltages between 14.2 V to 14.5 V. When you charge the battery the potential difference (the actual voltage you observe between nodes) get decreased. That is the reason that we do not recommend to remove the battery terminal when the engine is running. It can ruin your electronic systems, bulbs etc. Theoretically yes. But I don't have an idea of the length of time. Just use a voltmeter and check battery voltage time to time.
  4. I own a Mazda BHALP 1996 99000Km. I am not the first owner so I don't know the maintenance history of the car. I have several questions. 1. How do I decide the correct time to change the timing belt? 2. Is it a complex task to change the timing belt of a front wheel driven car? 3. How do I know that the replacement belt is a good one? 4. What are the other things I need to concern while changing the belt?
  5. Hi Thank you for your kind help.. The emails are bouncing.. my email address is [email protected]... please be kind enough to drop a mail.. Thanks a lot
  6. Yes, Once I had an AC service and I told the matter to them. But they were not 100% sure about the matter but they told the noise is coming from the compressor. A little noise was there when I buy this car and the previous owner also said the noise is coming from the Razor in compressor.. However any idea on replacement process? Do I need to release AC fluid in order to make a razor replacement :( Thanks a lot
  7. Hi friends, I own a Mazda; Mazda Familia '96 BHALP but it has a problem with AC. When I on the AC the I can hear a Creeek noise from the engine compartment. If I increase the rpm of the engine it reduces. I think there should be a worn part. What would be it? Thanks 1o0o0bC

    A Car For 10 Laks??

Agreed with Don. So My List has been modified. Toyota AE100 Toyota Tercel Nissan FB14 Nissan Pulsar Mazda Familia Mitsubishi Lancer CB8 Honda Civic EG8 Thanks guys, Feel free to comment. I am learning a lot from your comments Don, 1. What is the reason for lower market value for Toyota Tercel? By Appearence it is a nice car and there is no problem with fuel efficiency. 2. Heard that the fuel efficiency of Nissan FB14 is extremely lower than the other models. What do you say?

    A Car For 10 Laks??

Oh I made a mistake..I was in mind of a petrol car. For diesel I guess its 65 - xxxx. And the details sound great. Thanks a lot friends. And how about Mazda Familia and Toyota Turcel? The appearances of those models are great but I don't know about other factors. Any experiences on these models?

Actually I prefer a Petrol one...
  13. Hi All, If I want to buy a car around 10 Laks what is the model that you can recommend. I am asking this coz I don't have excellent idea about some models. As I know the available options would be, Nissan FB14 Nissan Pulsar Mitsubishi Lancer Toyota AE100 Toyota Turcel Hyundai Accent Mazda Familia Here I prefer Toyota Turcel and Mazda Familia. Is it a good idea? What can you say about the reselling value, fuel consumption and the availability of the spare parts of each model. Would expect the Expert Ideas
