I have not used Grace, however have been using a GP5 on which it is based for the last 6 months Economy – Urban 16-17kmpl, highway (100 kmph with cruise control 23-24kmpl) Acceleration 0-100km less than 10 sec. in gear acceleration pretty good, very nimble can be driven at decent pace, better than CRV, Lancer EX, Corolla 141 in terms of acceleration.

Why bother when jap hybrid will be cheaper

I got down a car in December 2014 (FIT GP-5) You really don’t get the best price from the auction as you will need to bid through an agent in SL, best prices will be for the vehicle re sellers and regulars. On top of the auction price there will be substantial handling charge, approximately JPY 200-400k depending on the vehicle. They normally do not insure, so advice you to get insurance arranged locally to avoid any risk if the unfortunate happens. Depending on the vehicle you might have to remit part of your cost through unofficial channels and the cost (exchange rate) will be high. All in all the cost saving might not be worth the effort considering the fact that you are exposed to exchange and duty fluctuations. Classic example would be the guys who got buggered from last budget. My saving from the vehicle was Rs. 200k (Rs. 3.8 Mn. Vs Rs. 4.0 Mn)

Turbo engines due to higher efficiency has better power / economy balance and also better emissions. Lower displacement engines and low fuel consumption / emissions have tax advantages in some European countries. Better fuel quality, lubricant quality and climate conditions contribute to more reliability on the engines. Technically this should apply to JDMs too.

Damage to the car will be covered, not belongings stolen

Can you believe they quoted two different prices for the basic service for VW (Passat) and Audi (A4). Having the same engine, presumably same oil and filter, done at the same place. About 25% more for Audi.

They do

I wonder why the VSA, auto braking and all other so called driver assist could not keep Humpty Vezel from toppling.
-
yes because they are expensive to manufacture, even the hybrids, given a uniform duty structure no body will be interested to buy them.
-
I think the government policy is in the right track with duty only at 5% when others have to pay 92% +

Mitsubishi Lancer Ex - Optimal Fuel Consumption
kush replied to dasunh's topic in General Automotive
How can it cost over USD 25k, when in 2007 it was only USD 12.5k when I bought mine. Any way useless agent, I was so p****d off with them even before I got the vehicle for the lousy service. I don’t think I will ever buy Mitsubishi as long as they are the agents. In any case Lancer is quite old in its life now, new model is not even seen in horizon due to resource issues at Mitsubishi- 64 replies

Mitsubishi Lancer Ex - Optimal Fuel Consumption

Oh no the guy who brought the car is thrilled with it. Anyway as per the manual if I can remember correct anything above 87 or 89 was ok, it said that you might experience small loss of power / economy which I did not notice. Funny thing is most of the Lancer EXs pumping 95 had to have their throttle body cleaned around 25k, in my case engine was running smooth as ever when I sold it around 40k.- 64 replies

Mercs makes special models to be used as cabs, generally E-class, they have basic interiors, special features / goodies . bells and whistles that come with the main stream models are missing, have basic engines or engines from yester year. They are sold in bulk to taxi companies at large discounts so the cost may be 50-60% of the mainstream model.
