i have had really bad times with trafic cops. you guys know the traffic lights on Elvitigala Mw (Baseline) near Vijaya Kumarathunga Mw right? once it was like 11.50pm and i wanted to come on baseline from V.K Mw. the light was red but there wasnt a SINGLE vehicle on the road. i still stopped for some time and made sure there were absolutly no vehicles. and ran the red light.. mind you i still didnt speed off or anything.. and i was driving pretty slow.. and i was with my parents ni the vehicle (meaning i didnt look like a person who was out street racing). and as i reached the turn near Aravinda's house trafic cops pulled me over and just simply asked me for my lisence. they very well saw that there wasnt a single vehicle was there, and i told them so as well. but it didnt affect them when writing me a fine for 1000 bucks.. and thats 1100 when you go to pay it at the post office.. so i guess traffic lights are pretty serious... but i dont see the point in preventing a person running a red light if there's no other trafic.

hey.... personally i think the H2 looks real hot with the stock body.. it doesnt need extrachrome or anything of that sort to look cool.. even the standard wheels look pretty hot! btw, does anyone know how much a H2 costs now. i remember when the H2 was first advertised in the paper some time back it was 21 mil.. that was before the many a tax incease that came up....so latest CIF price?

Thanks for all the comments guys… Hey who owns the black H1? How come people don’t talk about it that much? Come on! It’s a HUMMER IN SRI LANKA…that’s gotta be worth something! Yeah.. I’ve seen the orange H2 running around Colombo a couple of times.. the owner must be spending like hell on fuel…and I wonder how much Kumar (yes, the wicket-keeper) spent on petrol just to get the jeep to kandy… and imagine having to climb hills.. must be drinking petrol like nothing huh? Anyway, I’m posting a pic of the black H2.. the road I mentioned was Queen’s Road…I only had a camera that I took to take some pics with some friends.. if I had my other SLR (with 300mm zoom) the pic would have been way better…maybe next time… when I asked the Gardner who the house belongs to he said it was a Mr. Jayasooriya. But he wasn’t too thrilled with me asking a lot of questions.. and he didn’t see me take the pic…. And I heard today from a friend that there is a Mr. Jayamanna who also owns a Hummer… So awaiting more comments… Dilesh

Hey MADZ and Duncan! Seriously man.. this is what autolanka is all about... people doing it for the love of cars! I don’t know if anyone misunderstood me… I wasn’t blaming anyone for anything.. It was just that I feared that the site may be headed in a direction we don’t want it to…. We see lots of web-sites and not to mention TV shows etc that go like unbelievably commercial as soon as it becomes popular among the masses.. And besides those who know, know…. People who really are into motor sports etc know that if there are pics in existence its on Autolanka… and I don’t know about the Car Mags you were referring to. I presume its Motor Magazine.. I don’t know whats in it anymore cos I discontinued my subscription some time last year cos it was really loosing its quality… even the pictures looked kind of dull… and don’t even get me started on Autovision.. I don’t know why those people wont consider any of the suggestion people send them… cos my friends and I have sent in so many comments and no change….. Anyway, thanks for looking into the issue with the images…and such quick response… thumbs up to autolanka! Dilesh PS: I’d like to know where I can get an autolanka sticker as well…

Hey guys… how many Hummers and H2s are there in Sri Lanka? So far I have heard rumors of a black H1 in SL, though I haven’t seen it personally…is it true? And as far as I know there are 3 H2s in SL… the Red/Orrange one (JL-9703 or something) owned by the person running the ‘curry leaf’.. then there’s a black one parked at a house, on a road the name of which I don’t know… it’s the road that goes up near Queen’s and falls near the Colombo University College house… it’s a massive beautiful house.. and there’s a S class and some other nice cars there as well.. and not to mention a fancy ship/boat parked in the garden… And a friend of mine has seen a silver H2 in Kandy.. Apparently owned by Kumar Sanga. So who else knows what about these ? I cant imagine running one of these in SL.. isn’t it true that they have like a fuel consumption of like 1liter per 1km….

hey! a couple of days ago i started to download the pics from the 4x4 challenge. but i had some other issues to take care of and today when i started to download the rest on all the pictures i see "autolanka.com" going through the middle... guys? What’s up with this? is this REALLY necessary? in some cases the words go right through the vehicle. and those pics are hardly viewable. i know some of you guys may say its to prevent other people taking these pics and publishing them as their own, but really, is it necessary.... its like Autolanka is becoming a more and more commercial web-page… that kinda drives people away from the site… I know bills need to be paid and all, but its not like you guys sell the pictures on the galleries right? So, I hope there’ll be some positive response to this…..
