  1. Off-Topic: Clearly there are cases of ayurvedic medicine helping people, but i for one don't want to try a medicine cos a 1000 years ago some guy said that XYZ oil will cure ABC. Like Chan5 says modern medicine is evidence based, so there's some level of comfort in knowing there's been years of testing and research done and documented to prove effectiveness. But all that said and done, we are human afterall. When all that is logical has been tried and failed the survival instinct takes us down the path of faith and belief. And I guess this is one instance it led you correctly.
  2. Will you have a daughter, love her to bits, then change her for a son the firstchance you get cos she becomes too much to handle? So sweetly worded.. hahah!
  3. Sure.... buy her a vezel.. considering she likes the "vezel type" she seems to be a good fit for the vehicle.. Anyway its not like she'll know what to appreciate in any of the vehicles the guys here recommend..
  4. In some (most) cars u cant move the gear out of "P" without pressing the brake. It's to avoid the gear accidentally slipping out of P. So what you maybe hearing is the unlocking. Not sure how "loud" yours is, but it should be fairly low.
  5. You're right on that.. Audi is the worst!
  6. I'm guessing the guy ran either a. he was drunk driving, and surrendered once he sobered up b. escape the public bashing
  7. Oh man! Why would they complicate such a simple maintenance task! As for the courtesy car, I dont know why others (especially places like TL, Stafford or A*W who can certainly afford to own a few courtesy cars) dont do that.
  8. I have 2 comments: 1. Is changing the battery on a XF a very complicated process? Dont u just undo the terminals, yank out the old, put in the new and tighten the terminals? 2. The availability of a loaner/courtesy car is indeed a value added service that many (if not all) premium band drivers would appreciate and all shops should offer! Truely impressed by this!
  9. Machan, "having a strong union" does not mean doctors are entitled to the privilege of a permit. And the nobleness the GMOA claims about its profession does not ethically allow them to endanger patients' lives for personal benefits (aka permits). If the GMOA thinks going on strike is the solution, then they should drop their "noble and hard working profession" crap and realize they become no different from Gamunu and his private bus drivers' gang.
  10. If you've been on facebook on the usual car groups, you'll see how bad j********i is
  11. 1. If it's condemned you'll need to transfer the car's ownership to the insurance company; shit's gonna hit the fan here as others pointed out. 2. If the previous owner didnt cancel his policy yet, and wants to make a quick buck he can easily claim the money for himself and there's nothing you can do to stop him.
  12. And I just read this jem!!! And even funny is numerous people have reported their CDs being stolen when they give the Geely Panda for a repair/service to the agent
  13. These hybrid drivers seen to LOVE going to TL thinking that TL provides the best service on earth that's unmatched by others! But end up being ass-raped in bills. On some FB groups, one guy was quoted Rs.60,000.00 to replace a side mirror! I mean seriously!!!
  14. Well, hope you have fun with your car. The AE100 is probably one of the best choices for a newbie in that price bracket. Based on what happened with the budget, if you change your mind, you should be able to sell the car at the same price or a bit more in the coming months and go down the "rental" path. It's not too late I'm not sure where you're stationed, but I presumed you can pick up the car on your way home from camp.
  15. Off Topic: On the topic of doctors; I've been perplexed by the GMOA's vehement objection to private medical colleges. Priyanka, Chan5 as doctors what do you guys really feel about this? Why can't the medical field entertain doctors who are educated in local private medical universities? [[Reviving the old practice of using a different coloured font to ask the Off-topic question in this thread]]
  16. It's nice we have some good hardworking doctors here. In the eyes of anyone who would have gotten a permit and now wouldnt, they probably feel cheated. But sadly the GMOA's threat to take union action demanding a privilege at the cost of those who funded their education and livelihood gives a bad rep to ALL doctors including the exceptional few.
  17. It's a genuine question. He has NOT mentioned why he wants a newer car. If we have the answer to that we can help him better
  18. Why do you need to upgrade the year? Are other cars in your neighborhood newer than 2003?
  19. So the car will be not used for 7 weeks and used for 1 week... I know this may sound stupid, but wouldn't it be cheaper to RENT a car? For your case I see many benefits: 1. You dont have to worry about maintenance and repairs on the few free days you have 2. You get to choose a new car every time you need one 3. No need to worry about a dead battery when u start the car in 7-8 weeks. Just pick up the car n drive it away. 4. Based on your needs you can hire a bigger car or van if u plan to go on a trip etc. Renting even a premium car like an Allion is about 30,000 a week.. a vios or a corolla 121 around 25000.... If you need the car only once every 8 weeks thats about 6-7 times a year... meaning less than 200,000... Insurance, servicing, maintenance, interest on finance etc will be something close to that... then there's annual depreciation of the vehicle... So its cheaper for you to put your money in a fix deposit and rent a car with the interest you earn...
  20. A close friend got a A3 which is real bang for buck I think. Looks real classy, even more than the S series if you ask me... And if you're a girl and prefer something that fits in your purse rather than watch HD movies on a 6 inch screen they are awesome. And the speakers on that tiny A3 are far better than my S5.
  21. hahah hilarious!! there's bad mechanics all over i agree.. but then there's this gem!! I didnt think that someone could be so so disengaged with the job he's doing, he doesn't realize it when the 'job' itself disappeared one night.. :D

If you are not a able bodied person you need to be certified by an authorized medical practitioner that you are capable of handling an automobile. Please refrain from putting other road users and pedestrians at risk.

Why the f**k did you sell it if it's so rare? If you're not in sound physical and mental health you should not be driving a vehicle. Please take a bus or ask someone to drive you around. You're a public safety hazard.

probably the most unexpected load of horseshit "car love" I've seen There are guys have longer relationships with their favorite prostitute than this... In the end it's not that different from any other car-broker who buys a car polishes the headlights and paint and sells it off to the next chump who waves some peacocks in the seller's face.
