  1. I wont repeat all of the above benefits of mentioned above... and I'm not judging but spending 120k a year is not that big a deal on a middle eastern salary. So long for your "cost/benefit". Do you realize that you cant expect to run on the same set of tires for 5 years? the rubber is gonna either perish and/or wear out.. And if I lived away from home and had only 2 weeks with my family i wouldnt waste a whole day re inflating tyres, recharging the battery, washing servicing the car and what not. And another day getting the A/C regassed/serviced. (and these aren't free either) And whats the $$$$ value of simply getting into a freshly cleaned trouble-free car and touring the country as opposed to opening your garage to the depressing a sight of a dusty, dirty, moldy (possibly rat infested) car
  2. Ginger seems to believe that the salesman's mouth is the ONLY source of information when buying cars. There's no point entertaining such immature rants on consumer protection, when the consumer himself didnt do his reseasrch but instead want disclaimers and warnings at every milestone. Next time you're having a cup of tea, you might want to ask your wife/daughter to put a label saying "caution! Hot liquid" on it..
  3. Japanese cars with on-board radio/navigation have been coming into the country for a good 5-6 years now, and buyers still lack some common sense (or ability to do a bit of research) that the jap imports come with the japanese language.. sighh...
  4. How is the premio relevant to the car you're going to purchase?
  5. ohh.. i guess there's an expiry date date on imagechak uploads.. shall go home and re-create the images.. i dont remember when/where i created them.
  6. dam... that's one cool video.. I didnt know that it was THAT complex.... Thanks for the video!
  7. I didnt believe that baboon story, till I I googled it to see if its legit! WOW!
  8. That Prius is clearly inspired by Shifu (from KungFu Panda)
  9. The panda's fuel gauge isnt the conventional needle. It's a digital dial. So he probably means a notch on the meter...needless to say its not the most accurate measurement.
  10. OK, so we have narrowed it down to the compressor, NOT the condenser. So like it was mentioned before it could most likely be a work out bearing, which is normally replaceable. Not sure about the Bora, but in the absolute worst case, the compressor could be non-serviceable and you may need to replace the entire thing. Either way not a complex repair...
  11. The clutch drive plate is what engages/disengages the compressor. The pulley merely keeps the belt in tension. It's 2 different things.
  12. Are you serious??? He doesnt exactly have the best of reputations. No matter who the expert they cant advise you remotely on such issues. You cant diagnose electronic issues remotely. OP will have to bite the bullet and take that 280km trip..
  13. They are one step short of setting up a Geely Panda glory-hole.
  14. the condenser is basically a radiator. I can't imagine how that could possibly happen?!?!?! My guess would be the blower FAN, in which case, depending on the nature you might need a new bearing, motor or an entire fan unit. And I'm guessing you have climate control, which automatically turns the AC compressor on/off. If there is, try going onto a manual mode if you have one. It should bypass the auto on/off.
  15. Yes a friend got a Xiomi some months back and speaks nothing but great of it! Annnd clearly you dont need a go-pro. Just get a P&S camera which will have a lot more features that you need.
  16. GoPro is a brand, so there is no 'generic' GoPro. They are generally referred to as action cameras, and in the last year the market has been flooded with go-pros as well as dozens of similar knock-offs. I use a generic chinese made one I got off ebay for about 50usd. No big complaints on quality, and it comes in a metal cylindrical body so a lot more durable than a go-pro. Plus you cant beat the value for money.. There's 2 cons though. 1- angle; the go-pro ha sa recording angle of 170 degrees while this has only 120, so it's a narrower field of view. 2- No back screen; so no previews. Hence it takes a few trie dto get the position/angle right. May I ask what you're buying it for? If you're gonna stick it at the end of a selfie stick and walk around with it, I say dont waste your money. Get a regular camera, you get better battery life, flexibility and to an photo quality. Mine looks something like this: http://www.ebay.com/itm/1080P-HD-Bike-Motorcycle-Helmet-Sports-Mini-Action-Camera-Video-DVR-DV-Camcorder-/121587399549?hash=item1c4f2c7b7d:g:gaIAAOSwuTxV~6UB Sample:
  17. Or as the baiya's say it's the yahapalanaya's fault...
  18. I havent met anyone who has bought a car froma car-sale in a long time... would you be kind enough to share your experience on this point... Thanks!
  19. "super bright"? Actually that's where you're mistaken.. Super bright bulbs are okay if you're using clear lenses. But if you want to use tints on the lenses you need to user super duper bright bulbs.... this is from experience... ok? You should go to China and get a job at a Chinese bulb manufacturer to classify bulbs
  20. It's strange how much effort you're willing to take to beat some sense into a stubborn goat. And PreseaLover. When you buy your next dream car Presea (and sell it off at the first profitable offer you get) here's a trick... get some lubricant grease and apply it on your brake disks.. it will reduce friction and your car will travel further giving you more kilometers per liter.
  21. "Oz" fever hit you, eh "mate"? hik hik hik
  22. Quite the contrary. Purely on an automotive perspective, They cancelled the permit system which was quite a drain on the economy; they got shit about it. And the good-for-nothing GMOA went to the extent of risking people's lives over it. They are trying to discourage vehicles coming into colombo; still getting shit about it They tried to implement parking meters; not sure if it was implemented, but they got shit about it. While you cant build a monorail or a luxurious public transport medium overnight some level of preventive measures were necessary.
  23. I disagree with you. It's not always the government's fault. They take a lot of good decisions which will yield benefits in the long run but a bit bitter at the present. And thanks to an opportunistic opposition trying to destabilize things every other day, the government cant help buy play into popularity. Same thing happened in 1977, when the then government was thrown out in a landslide because their efforts to jump start a self-sustainable economy was too harsh.
  24. and the 450km probably doesn't factor in being caught being a bus that stops every 300-400m to pick up anyone and everyone who sticks their hand out. I think Kavvz may be right on the fact that it's got no direct competitor in the market hence the need/demand. There's been quite a few on the road and few for sale right now.. does anyone know what the going price is?
