  1. last tune-up done at 40,000kms now 72,000kms. nothing was repaired this was at pitstop
  2. hi my swift vxi k12 [india] rejects to start in first go; starter motor runs well but it doesnt continue engine to run in own. can that be a petrol block or injector issue [btw i use 95 and recently replaced battery] car has done abt 72,000km; has no any other problem. does abt 17 kms/ltr outstation run. city 14-15. in power drive. your expert advice is highly appreciated
  3. thanks; double cabs are hard to keep-up it seems i do like suvs cuz, > comfort is a must when i travel with my newborn, and > my car required a good ground clearance plus > the space for more ppl to travel anyhow seems that fuel concern would not help me on this; i might have to wait a bit more.......
  4. Dear Experts, pls help me to select the most suitable, but i have following requirements 1. need to be either nissan or suzuki 2. SUV 3. budget of 3 Mn 4. fuel economy is important as i hit 1500 - 2000 kms every month 5. spare parts availablity 6. prefer manual transmission, [fuel concern] Thanks
  5. in the vehicle maintenence checklist of car manual only details are available upto 80,000Km service. no infor about the time belt change. can someone advise on this. and also about the cost involved
  6. following helped understading; API is the body who do this standardization, following is the link to engine oil related guide http://www.api.org/oil-and-natural-gas-overview/fuels-and-refining/engine-oil/~/media/Files/Oil-and-Natural-Gas/Engine%20Oil/MOTOR_OIL_GUIDE_2010_120210.ashx
  7. Thanks Clark's son, i cannot understand how the contaminants in fuel can mix with engine oil. but what i can understand is that as the letter goes towards Z, its more advanced type; is that what you mean? that means those oils will have more fuel economy at the expence of high deteriotation? (pls correct my undestaning to what you said; if i am wrong)
  8. Agreed Don... the Vehicle manufacturers recommendation is to use SG 10W30 earlier i could not find any oil witn SG specification, so i used SL 10W30 But now it is not available, now it is SN/CF 10W30 cuz i know 10W30 stands for 0'c viscosity of 10, and running temperature viscosity of 30 (Correct me if i am wrong) but i do not know what they meant by the letters, so i wanted to know is what does the manufacturer meant by SG,SL or SN/CF. is there a real difference in that.
  9. i have always used 10w-30 of castrol or toyota
  10. I have a 2010 swift vxi; used with 95 octane petrol noted it has better fuel economy with Toyota engine oil(SL 10w-30) than the castrol. this time usual oil was not available and Toyota SN/CF 10w-30 was there. can someone advice me is there a difference.
  11. I always encounter this problem of being not able to search or filter within autolanka ads? have experienced this with multiple web browsers also

    New Engine Oil

no change to my driving style; don't know what was the fist oil fill, but the second fill was Castrol GTX 10w30 SL the cost difference in fuel for 5000kms as follows 5000/13=385liters => LKR55,000 5000/15=333liters => LKR47,670 so its about 7,000 rupees. Thanks
