  1. Nice joke peri! Its like going to wanni with a water pistol! Knowing you will loose going there with a slower car! So I understand now..the sponsers just wanna promote their never version of the car..no intention with them to make Dinesh win! :D
  2. Congrads to Visal! I have a question about Dinesh & his new EVO-X. I was rather surprised to see him not run in his first race! So much for the remarkable piece of machinery(evo x) what went wrong? I felt very sad also disappointed to watch! Is this because of the new technology is too advanced and the car malfunctioned? Or something else? Or Dinesh was not very use to the new car? I think it couldn't have been anything wrong with the car, since if it was he wouldn't have come to katu..in the first place..even the second race the car performed very badly as I think.
  3. Some guys wanna prove to the world that they are fast! Some prefer not to! I think proving needs to be for a worthy purpose!much much more.. than proving to the world that you are quickest in a roundabout airbase strip! I am sure thats what Gihan meant
  4. But its the same upgrade done to many!
  5. Muchung By experience I am telling most of the foreign wine has very high percentage of alc. some 34% they are very strong than our "gal arrukku"! Can you belive it!

    Fb14

Totally wrong! If driven under 2000rpm does 13-14kmpl. Under heavy boost still it'll do 8-10kmpl. I dont think you can compare these figure with any car in SL! Nothing add about 130BHP. Even the stock EP82 1300 non turbo has 100BHP. Now thats add! In the GT you gain 35BHP from the CT9 Turbo. What you missed is the cars weight. The EP82 GT Turbo is only 860Kg.!Thats the secret.
  7. Both drivers involved have been highly skilled and creative!
  8. Firstly I assume you checked for all these indicators before you bought it..and assume all were working at that time. If so you are encountering one of the following problems with it. As far as I know ABS was a standard function on all FB15's. But I am not sure about eco..! Somebody please correct me if I am wrong. 1)Sensor cable disconnected.(Reconnect cables) 2)Dust or any other foreign body blocking sensor pickup.(Clean engine and sensor) 3)Electronically malfunctioning sensor.(Replace sensor) 4)Fuse burnt(Replace fuse) Better to do a diagnostic check. Since indicators better to check error codes!
  9. Made me go through Colombo Fort last week, and since cause of the heavy traffic had to stop in front of (just before car gills building). I was wondering why?? Such a heavy traffic...Holy shit!!! Take a look why!!!!
  10. Just buying a Cobra detector and fixing it will not work hear in SL. You got to check the open frequency of it..if I have not mistaken. Unless that matches you will detect nothing! Oh yes and cops will detect you. Halt!
  11. Even I had this idea..later changed my mind...One thing is for sure..Glow dials are dangerous! Think a bit and you may understand why!
  12. Mate..why didnt you say soo..But stilll I disagree..My Starlet has same legroom (front)as my MAZDA Familia..(your story is true with march and other small cars) though its hatch..the problem comes only to the passenger seats! IN that case go for a never 1997-1998 Mazda. You could get an English plated car for this price with F/O, obviously it donet hold that kinda second hand market of a toyota but still all car market prices in general expand..if you are lucky could get a MAZDA which has done less than 100,000km. so whatever you buy I am sure you can sell it for at least a rupee more the day after..hope you get what I mean!
  13. Apart from all these recommendations..since fuel cost is your concern..theres nothing to beat the STARLET..look around and inquire from people observer classifi. this will prove it. I agree there are enough smaller non-jap cars around..which does well on fuel and for this price.but believe me there's a whole lot a difference in a JAP. I doubt you could get a model newer than 1997-1998..even that I am not sure..But if you find and lucky enough you might get one..Parts are freely available everywhere.. Certainly I would say slow to moderate driving one could archive 11-13 in it..and this is in city traffic with AC. Finally Toyota has the best 2nd hand market in SL..you could have notice this even by looking at our AL classifieds. Think honda comes second.
  14. Hi Frineds, Thought this might be of some useful info since plugs play a major role in day to day running. Just take a look..

Not all. Some..worst case many.. Mate, even if the Meters were turned..we still stick to the habit of asking for the millage when buying vehicle, don't we? Apart from inquiring other details about vehicle. Thats a common practice. And thats how we intend to get a general idea about its running condition.
  17. True. Never take risks. Specially with critical parts! We understand there is cost factor involved, sometimes I've had second thoughts about spending but to tell you Ive always replaced with the brand new and original where possible...its worth it and after all its your car..treat it well. Think this way mate...."When we are ill we go to see doc, and then do we ask him for the cheapest medicine? Of course not instead we try to buy the best medicine! Obviously a human life is more important than a car..and it cant be bought, if lost! But at least try to treat your car with the best you can afford..after all you depend on it..its your..your ride..on the road..Care for it.. Do not clog your repairs..attend to them as and when they occur..ignoring such may propagate from minor to major issue..resulting in more money, time lost and also worst of them all the worry!

    Nissan Serena

Thats true peri. Only for low rev..rev it hard and its gone. not like petrols..I remember the pics of what Devinda posted of the Diesel supercharged..which has a very low redline.
  19. "Used by" in shorten means: "On your knees..kneel down....down...worship me you....Give way Intelligent & Very Important Person over here"..sick fellows.. Nothing but ego....
  20. "Mong-Koo Chung INSIDE - Jaguar OUTSIDE" Very comfortable, spacious, looks great and large, bad on fuel, low resale value compared to other jap cars. H-Matic transmission needs regular attention and maintenance.

Thanks for the info DON. Well mate I am not an hands on Serena user to say YES/No to these facts, but on the other hand if the FX is quite rare wont it put him in danger when it comes to repairs and parts! Specially turbo parts! Since you mentioned its rare. But I understand you have given that "but its the only Serena I would actually consider buying !" meant some negative point about the other normal aspirated once! Of course agree it'll make combustion good when driven at moderate speed say 40-60, since a forced induction but yet again it will not do better when high revved isn't it?(beyond moderate speed) Well hardly cannot comment on Intercity buses..since I find it very difficult to associate with the drivers/conductors and the owners of those since of the disgusting way they behave in society! But DON, I hardly cannot agree with your first comment! "Actually Priya, modern Turbo's are pretty resilient and I don't think they would wear off as badly as you suggest." because my comments ware not based on just verbal info given to me, but each and every case I was in it and actually seen it. Let me name a few. Atleast for information for members. 1)Toyota Corsa Moa 1992-1.5 Turbo Diesel(Under comp and redu after 200,000)my fathers 2)Toyota Carina Ti 1996-2.0 Turbo Diesel(Under comp. and redo after 150,000)my best friends 3)Nissan Serena FE 1992-2.0 Deisel(Under comp. engine replaced after 180,000)fathers best friends I really like to see how a hands on serena user would comment! On these matters and comments pointed out by us. Cheers!

    Abs Indicator

The only person I know is Mr. Dhammika at close to borella..he did the tunning when I had my MAZDA 1.3auto BHA3P 1997, It did really well on petrol once I got it tuned. Well about the sensor issue he has a diagnostic sensor...will be able to test run and tell you..better call him and ask. He has a diagnoser...but he is not a diagnoser though rather a Tuner. Unfortunately I lost his number...a forum member might be able provide his contact. Lets also wait and see I think there are a couple of places apart from him. Mate ..better go to CARMART...If you sluggish ....atleast inquire cost and see..I am sure it'll not be much.
