ah right, i'm sure its a worth investment by parents. (personally not sure 50k or so toys can be justifiable, but if the parents can manage with their money good for them, hopefully not public money though :S) this was nicely shown on that james may's tv series on old toys i guess. sad to hear about delay of yours, you're making my self crave for another go at technics

this thread surely brings back the memories. (hell i even logged on to AL just to reply to this after years!) i too had the same model (or something very similar) back in those days, by any chance you bought this from a shop in Kandy? cos i remmeber buying it from Kandy and on the way home it self lost a small part inside the car, that taught me not to open up lego kits till i get home anyway since thread discusses about price of toys n is it worth it etc. i was just wondering does these helps kids to be interested in mechanical/engineering/tech careers. not to boast or anything, but im into higher studies in mechanical field (though not automobile, and i'm sure some people in AL are much better than my self when it comes to automobile side of stuff though they may not be in a career in mech field it self). what about you guys? or is it just kids who are interested in toys like lego are inherently inclined to tech stuff? anyway thanks komi for the nostalgia!

I checked MC, there was no place to buy any car related puzzles. But there were couple of nature/scenery ones with up to 3000 pieces.

Hey any of you know a place to buy compressed air cans to clean/un-dust laptops etc? I checked unity plaza and no one even seems to know what compressed air cans are. [bTW Its told not to use regular vacuum cleaners to remove dust since it creates too much static electricity which is harmful to sensitive electronics parts.]

Guys I was wondering if theres any place where I can buy puzzles (Jigsaw puzzles) with some car pics in it. Im talking about adult size ones with maybe 500+ pieces. (not the puzzles for little kids ) I have one with a nice Ferrari 550 Maranello on it which i bought years back from abroad. When I was looking at it recently I thought why not get one down from ebay. But it seems ebay doesnt have many puzzles which can be posted to Sri Lanka and even ones which can be cost a bit more than expected. Thought somebody here might know a place. Thanks!

well in 1950s BOSCH & Mercedes Benz developed petrol direct injection for production cars (1955 300SL used this), so it got a history and cant said its not proven. But in Mitsubishi's GDI system, I heard there are flaws/issues, like homogeneous and stratified modes change over point. Also many are saying its the quality of petrol in SL. Btw many Benz cars coming here today got direct injection (CGI as Benz calls) and they seems to be doing good according to the agent giving good fuel economy (relatively) & no issues. But getting back to the main topic of the thread, I'll try to find out any info on this JD, but I'm not a pro will have to get info from others

It was got down by D*MO. You can clearly see its a RHD and theres no need of conversion by aftermarket cos one can buy it in RHD form directly from Benz anyway. Its funny anyone speculated such a thing.

It wont be there machan, but there were few sports models in such as E coupe & E cabrio (not exotic as SLS though)

You sure its ML55 the AMG not the usual ML350 etc? cos thats one of the only four real AMGs in SL (S63, SL55, ML55 & the new SLS)

I feel theres more issues than just the hybrid fans in AL now. As an old member of AL from the previous forum we had (though I may not have posted much here, i did read AL forums a lot), I remember those days with shakster, fuzzo, madz.... and all it was more interesting. It could also be something to do with people being more tolerate to each other(I'm not saying this against your poll here, but as in general seeing where AL is heading) yes fuel consumption threads are blooming everywhere, but maybe its because thats what people interested in these days. But I feel people need to tolerate those and if they think there are better things to post, they should themselves do that. And if one doesnt want to be a part of those conversations, why not just ignore them. Also AL always was a site where good help was given to automotive related problems, so its not surprising to see new people coming here with their problems. It may be about their Prius or the RX8, but why cant we just try to stick to the topic without trying to generalize people and their choice of cars? just my two cents
