a highly RIDICULOUS theory of urs to be rich! well ppl who usually can afford 7 to 10 million are very big businessmen, smart, naturally talented and HARD WORKING unlike most of the sri lankans. and u need a bit of luck as well. most of them sri lankans love sitting at home and expect money to fall into their laps and curse and grumble at ppl who own lavish cars. ever considered the fact that could have EARNED and WORKED for it? son of a politician my a$$! ppl are just waiting to rob this damn country, i dont feel any frikkin love!

well, we happen to own a maruti 800. and its absolute RUBBISH! ride is bumpy and too uncomfortable especially with those horrid seats! driving position is messed up, build quality is of no use, lack of space both in the front and back and yes, no saftey whtsoever! its very unhealthy to drive that car for long distances, u end up having back problems, ur mentally stressed and tired with driving that car. ppl think its small and nippy to drive it around the streets of colombo, but for me, its a lot of hard work driving that damn thing. its very stressful to drive that thing around. the only pro for me abt that car is, the fuel economy and the availability of parts of cheap. then again, the parts have to be replaced quite often if ur a hard driver of the car. very unsteady and prone to break an arm of some sort on these sl roads. gone are the days where the cost of new maruti's in india equal to SLR 400,000. with the value of the indian rupee on the rise to the sl rupee today, the value of the maruti is more. as for newer jap and european cars appearing on the indian roads, we are all aware of the how jap companies like toyota, honda and european companies like mercedes and now bmw have set up assembly plants in india, thus offering those cars to the locals for really affordable prices! india has become a very rich country unlike some of its neighbours, who are too busy with problems within themselves..... Welcome to Sri Lanka dude! lol! sit back relax and enjoy life! another thing that really grinds my gears? seeing a traffic cop in the middle of a pavement in the centre of the road (NOT at a junction) waving his arms like a mad man in the forward motion, the direction the vehicles have to move ANYWAY! i mean, wtf?? he's better off rowin a boat or somethin if he really needs to work on his arms, his brain is of no use on the road anyway. whew! its all abt insufficient trainin dude, true most of em are 'naturally' dumb but it all comes down to the responsibility of the country's government at the end of the day. absolutely no use talkin abt it, so i suggest we all have a good laugh over the whole thing Have a good friday the 13th guys! i'm sorry to say that traffic cops in sl always end up pissing me off! and i really mean ALWAYS! of course, u get the nice ones, u get the stubborn ones but from wht i've come across, they are all slow, dumb/retarded most of the times, MOST enjoy 'makin a mountain out of a mole' and MOST have ego issues! maybe its not their fault, maybe they have insufficient training, maybe its the way they are brought and treated at the police force, who knows?? at the end of the day, its the common man/citizen of the country that has to suffer, which is always the case in our Lassana Sri Lanka!

well, we have been using one of those 'batta' vans for over 3 yrs now for our business and i have to say its been one of the most reliable vehicles we've ever used. we've had no major problems whtsoever, except fpr lil things like break pads and ac belt etc. its a subaru sambar, 660cc. the thing with the subaru is that the engine's placed in the rear, with a drop down steel buffer to access the engine. this also makes the drive very smooth, compared to the mitsubishi's and the suzuki's in which the engines are placed below the passenger seat like most other vans. very very economical, we usually do 10 or over on colombo roads depending on the load u have. im tellin u, those little things can carry quite a load and have a very impressive amount of torque to pull those loads. as for comfort, well its no merc, but is definitely quite roomy and rather comfy for vehicle of that type. very easy to drive around, and very nippy! i rather enjoy drivin it durin traffic hours in fact, i even drove it up to hill country and back without a single worry. as for the price, if u had to import it 3 yrs ago, it would have cost u not more than 450 thou. im not too sure of the current prices, but i believe they are goin for abt 9 or so for an unreg. we havnt been disappointed with that vehicle, i'd say if u made up ur mind to buy one, go for it! for me its been a worthwhile investment! agreed! for god's sake, there was a damn bomb in ratmalana a week ago! the army and the cops and also the public in that area are pretty pissed off, and when a bunch of dudes go there and 'drag' with their loud cars, dont expect em to not take any action! mind u, the army does have the right to shoot at a car thats 'running away'. these are all ridiculous risks that u boys take at a very bad time in this country. the prob with these 'drag ppl' is that once they hit it off in one location, they repeat it over and over again, same time, same location which is really stupid. they watched u 1st week, 2nd week, 3rd week?? and then bust! it can be fun, it can be 'cool', but think before u drag! hehe Cheers!
