  1. Posting similar thread (Some time Back) so OP could have some idea about Engine Rebuilds done properly. regarding the place, last i heard they had moved places.
  2. Have you performed the Basic diagnosis like Dry Wet Compression Test etc. to determine whether the Engine is actually needs a rebuild?
  3. FL22 is Mazda specific coolant type similar to Toyota Super Long Life Coolant. you could use any reputed coolant in the market like (Valvoline) Zerex Asian Vehicle coolant, Bear Brand (Seiken) Hyper Long Life Coolant etc for pre-mixed ones. these are pretty much similar to Mazdas FL22. but remember to flush the existing with Distilled water at least couple of times before using these pre-mixed coolants. https://www.mazdaforum.com/forum/mazda-cx-5-54/2014-cx5-fl22-coolant-alternative-emergency-47052/ https://bobistheoilguy.com/forums/threads/closest-equivalent-to-mazdas-type-fl22-coolant.365131/
  4. Recently Purchased a Teyes Spro Plus for My Vitara. got it down from Aliexpress. Support is also good since it's Russian and Chinese product and updates are available. not to forget out of the box all the Steering controls worked and all the Wirings also included and installation was a breeze (Installed by myself).
  5. Replying since I'm owning a Vitara (2007 2.0 AWD).. What type of Vitara is this? there are 2 Litre 2wd Model which imported down under Permits, and 2.4 Litre Model with All wheel Drive (Full Time). for 2.4 Model there's known issue of Engine Block getting cracked due to a die-cast issue. i think this was sorted out after 2010. there is specific Engine numbers which are affected, perhaps you can clear this out from he Agents. for AWD Model these will do only around 6-7 in City. also AWD model is very maintenance intensive you need to spend some moolah on Drive train maintenance such as Diff oil changes Transfer case Oil change etc. 2WD model is very basic model with better gas mileage. should do around the figures you mentioned above.
  6. Watchout for the JATCO Transmission in Outlander which is notorious for giving trouble after 100K. out of the above lot, Montero Sport would be ideal but if your looking for creature comfort, Try to source a Sorento, if Diesel doesn't suits you why not source a well maintained Petrol one?
  7. Check Grand vitara 2wd permit imported ones.. AWD ones bit complicated to maintain and bit thirstier..
  8. On the contrary would love to have a 70 Series petrol one.. never liked the diesels anyway!..
  9. Yeah, such a waste seeing souped up LCs in Colombo roads for grocery runs and none seeing off roads.. 🤐me neither a fan of Chrome accents on the newer Prados and LCs looks just hideous and Mudalali type..
  10. Adoh! Me with a iPhone XR.. what is the level?.. Bankoloth perhaps.. 😁
  11. This is the Overflow hose to reservoir tank usually comes without any clips attached to it. replacement is fairly simple, just pull it out from the neck of Cap assembly, suck out 🤐 (Using Syringe or similar tool as Rad coolant are poisonous) and empty the reservoir tank and pull the hose from it. use the hose as sample when you're buying as some hoses differ in diameter.
  12. Ohhh thats Bad Really really bad.. thankfully most of the parts which i was intended to restore the Bodywork is almost completed for my Vitara. The LED (Auxito) High beams got it yesterday as well without any issues through UPS) as final touches. Pending work is to get the Mountings (Both Engine and Diff mounts) observed slightly small crack on rear Diff mount, nothing major but Engine mounts has to go) and Timing chain kit plus Valve stem seals (Yes i'm seeing Blue smoke at cold starts). Anyway these are really bad days for restorations 😑
  13. After November i had ordered Bumper Mount clips, 2 bonnet hinges, Wire Harness and recently ventilator Apart from Ventilator other's were imported through Aramex (Partsouq). no issues.
  14. Couldn't locate Automotive spare parts in the Gazette.. https://www.scribd.com/embeds/588595553/content?start_page=1&view_mode=scroll&access_key=key-5pXatNjcSBPHWUDsT6SF
  15. Importation of Spare parts is not banned but they are getting Taxed (40% for Brand new parts and not sure about used parts). recently ordered multiple items (Small interior bits, side ventilator, mind you this is big box) without getting taxed. better to call up clearing agent or custom directly and see as @iRage suggested.
  16. Had bad experience with them multiple times.. part of me to blame without cross checking with them prior to order them. but thats a simple stock maintenance and updating the site which is their responsibility. their refunding process is nightmarish too.. initially they had deposited to the wrong bank and Finance guy was like he's doing me a favor by doing a refund.. 🤷‍♂ī¸ never again.. there are many alternative sites better than them now.. and most of the time.. paying a visit to Panchi or local shop would be cheaper alternative..
  17. Yeah, I'm thinking of this too.. but the issue is the Audio quality is on par with major brands like Kenwood Pioneer etc? saw a Nakamichi branded one too.. (i think these were manufactured in China now). @K.o.N.o.S, is there any lag when it switches to reverse cam? (If it's equipped)
  18. Check River Garden, Belihuloya, there are few places more around that area.. couldn't remember the names..
  19. I Would say, save the hassle and get both and replace and be done with it. not sure what might come after replacement of the old gearbox with wear and tear... @PreseaLoverīģŋ please share pics and details if your going ahead man. its pretty rare these type of builds / conversion in AL these days
  20. I would definitely check the operation of the Throttle position sensor (Although it's not listed here).
  21. Great stuff.. sick of seeing Vehicle prices and thel hinganna threads.. Question how did you manage the Axles / Drive shafts? is it going to be EP91 axles or 71?
  22. I’ve learned this hard way as well.. replaced with repair kits 3 times but not sure it will last.. i think once the cylinder bore is damaged Repair kits wont last. Planning to replace them with Seiken Cylinders. Srikantha Motors (Agents for Seiken) has them. And they quoted me 2.5k or around each if i can remember correct.
