FL22 is Mazda specific coolant type similar to Toyota Super Long Life Coolant. you could use any reputed coolant in the market like (Valvoline) Zerex Asian Vehicle coolant, Bear Brand (Seiken) Hyper Long Life Coolant etc for pre-mixed ones. these are pretty much similar to Mazdas FL22. but remember to flush the existing with Distilled water at least couple of times before using these pre-mixed coolants.

Recently Purchased a Teyes Spro Plus for My Vitara. got it down from Aliexpress. Support is also good since it's Russian and Chinese product and updates are available. not to forget out of the box all the Steering controls worked and all the Wirings also included and installation was a breeze (Installed by myself).

Replying since I'm owning a Vitara (2007 2.0 AWD).. What type of Vitara is this? there are 2 Litre 2wd Model which imported down under Permits, and 2.4 Litre Model with All wheel Drive (Full Time). for 2.4 Model there's known issue of Engine Block getting cracked due to a die-cast issue. i think this was sorted out after 2010. there is specific Engine numbers which are affected, perhaps you can clear this out from he Agents. for AWD Model these will do only around 6-7 in City. also AWD model is very maintenance intensive you need to spend some moolah on Drive train maintenance such as Diff oil changes Transfer case Oil change etc. 2WD model is very basic model with better gas mileage. should do around the figures you mentioned above.

I'm planning to buy something in the similar range and My options are Sorento 2012, Montero Sport and Outlander Phev 2013/2014 (Old face). I love the way Outlander looks would like to know if Phev gives battery issues could it be repaired for a decent amount and could continue to drive coz I'm a bit scared about diesel engines after hearing (have no exp) about crazy regular maintenance prices.
Watchout for the JATCO Transmission in Outlander which is notorious for giving trouble after 100K. out of the above lot, Montero Sport would be ideal but if your looking for creature comfort, Try to source a Sorento, if Diesel doesn't suits you why not source a well maintained Petrol one?

Check Grand vitara 2wd permit imported ones.. AWD ones bit complicated to maintain and bit thirstier..

Am I the only one who lusts for LCs only in this kind of attire ?
I do not need the snorkel nor the roof rack....just black door handles and grill and if possible black bumpers and has to be on steelies. Yes...in some markets they do offer the land cruiser with black bumpers. It is typically for people who want rip the stock bumper off and put off-roading ones. The paintless bumper takes off about 900USD off the purchase price.
Yeah, such a waste seeing souped up LCs in Colombo roads for grocery runs and none seeing off roads.. 🤐me neither a fan of Chrome accents on the newer Prados and LCs looks just hideous and Mudalali type..

This is the Overflow hose to reservoir tank usually comes without any clips attached to it. replacement is fairly simple, just pull it out from the neck of Cap assembly, suck out 🤐 (Using Syringe or similar tool as Rad coolant are poisonous) and empty the reservoir tank and pull the hose from it. use the hose as sample when you're buying as some hoses differ in diameter.

I too called a very informative petrolhead working in the customs, got to speak to him via a friend, he said they are re-shipping anything and everything that fits the ban, his prediction was soon US post, china post, Japan post and other postal organizations will stop shipping to SL as they are reshipping tons and tons of rejects these days. His simple word was 90% of imports we use are banned related to the automotive sector,
Ohhh thats Bad Really really bad.. thankfully most of the parts which i was intended to restore the Bodywork is almost completed for my Vitara. The LED (Auxito) High beams got it yesterday as well without any issues through UPS) as final touches. Pending work is to get the Mountings (Both Engine and Diff mounts) observed slightly small crack on rear Diff mount, nothing major but Engine mounts has to go) and Timing chain kit plus Valve stem seals (Yes i'm seeing Blue smoke at cold starts).
Anyway these are really bad days for restorations 😑

This is the latest one. Look for the 2021 November gazette which announced the banned items for the first time. But they allowed to import with license or by air freights. After the recent ban they stopped that too. As I heard now they cease the packages.
After November i had ordered Bumper Mount clips, 2 bonnet hinges, Wire Harness and recently ventilator Apart from Ventilator other's were imported through Aramex (Partsouq). no issues.

Couldn't locate Automotive spare parts in the Gazette..
-
Importation of Spare parts is not banned but they are getting Taxed (40% for Brand new parts and not sure about used parts). recently ordered multiple items (Small interior bits, side ventilator, mind you this is big box) without getting taxed. better to call up clearing agent or custom directly and see as @iRage suggested.

Had bad experience with them multiple times.. part of me to blame without cross checking with them prior to order them. but thats a simple stock maintenance and updating the site which is their responsibility. their refunding process is nightmarish too.. initially they had deposited to the wrong bank and Finance guy was like he's doing me a favor by doing a refund.. 🤷♂️ never again.. there are many alternative sites better than them now.. and most of the time.. paying a visit to Panchi or local shop would be cheaper alternative..

Nice upgrade..!! It seems to overhaul the looks of the interior
So the sound is on par with the old unit?
Even I'm thinking of doing the same for mine.. Could you please share the brand of the unit you installed if there's one?
Yeah, I'm thinking of this too.. but the issue is the Audio quality is on par with major brands like Kenwood Pioneer etc? saw a Nakamichi branded one too.. (i think these were manufactured in China now). @K.o.N.o.S, is there any lag when it switches to reverse cam? (If it's equipped)

Guys I really really need help here please.
When I reach the speed of around 70kmh and when the car is in 4th gear, and when I release the leg from the accelerator (withoiut keeping my leg on the brakes) the car vibrates/knocks heavily. And at the same time the RPM meter also fluctuates.. When the speed reduces then the car goes as usual without the vibration and RPM meter becomes normal too. This happens only after driving at the 4th gear for few seconds. Mechanics wouldnt know what to do either because this happens occasionally and they cant get it to happen when test driving. Also the car stops sometimes at low gears during traffic. I have done the following repairs so I dont' know what else to do.
1. Cleaned throttle body
2. Replaced all 4 plugs
3. Cleaned idle valve/AAC valve
4. Replaced all 3 mounts (engine, axle, gearbox)
5. Front Tyres are also new
6. Cleaned intake manifold and Air filter
7. Replaced fuel filter and fuel pump
8. Adjusted distributor
Can someone tell me what might be wrong?
I would definitely check the operation of the Throttle position sensor (Although it's not listed here).

Got mine from Namarathne Motors for the Vitara. Always cross verified against the part catalog before purchasing them.

Update on this, during the last service I was informed that the cylinders are leaking again. Just one year after spending 8k for this. f**k me!! However I've driven 27,000kms since the repair. Now the car is at 167,000 and this has been done at 140,000kms. As most of these kilometres were driven in city the brakes are employed exorbitantly. So I presume under regular driving conditions these would've lasted much more.
Anyways, there's no repairing now. I need to replace the entire cylinders. These are expensive at the agent and even expensive to import. If any of you have a source who has these, I appreciate the heads up. Gonna run like this as the leakage is not severe. Eventually have to replace them.
@Hyaenidae& @K.o.N.o.S keep a close eye on your brake cylinders as well. You Never know when they go bust again.
I’ve learned this hard way as well.. replaced with repair kits 3 times but not sure it will last.. i think once the cylinder bore is damaged Repair kits wont last. Planning to replace them with Seiken Cylinders. Srikantha Motors (Agents for Seiken) has them. And they quoted me 2.5k or around each if i can remember correct.

07 Replacing Lower Arm Bushes and Stabilizer Links
This repair was done back in February 2021. Was neck deep with family commitments and work so never had time to update the thread. Keeping things short, below are the details of parts and prices.
Lower Arm Bushes (Genuine) - 15.05 USD each Total 30.10 USD (@195 LKR) Part No. 4013A426
Stabiliser Bush (Genuine) - 3.72 USD each Total 7.44 USD (@195 LKR) Part No. 4056A049
Stabilizer Bar (FEBEST) - 07.95 USD each Total 15.90 USD (@195 LKR) 0523PC
These were ordered from https://partsouq.com . Parts came in as two shipments. Though I was able to save plenty with regard to prices of the parts, I've got myself screwed royally with the customs.
Lower arm bushes and front brake clip kit (Will provide details of this in the next post) shipment cost 69.69 USD including the shipping cost. That's just Rs.13,600/- which is not a bad price for genuine parts. But they taxed me Rs.7,800/- for these. Then the stabiliser bars came at USD 33.95 (LKR 6,600/-) and got taxed Rs.4,100/-.
So the total price for these parts went up to Rs.32,100/-. I'm not gonna say anything about this, you are free to come to your own conclusion on the final outcome.
Parts were fixed at my usual mechanics place. He charged me Rs.4,500/- including lathe work.
New Parts
Lower Arms
Old Stabilizer Link
New Stabilizer Link installed
Stabilizer bush installed.
Have you checked with Amayama Regarding parts?. With amayama you can opted to ship with EMS and if it get stuck with Customs you can talk your way out for a “reasonable” amount. Partsouq ships with aramex or DHL. Got down Expansion valve and other plastic bits which came directly to home from amayama.

Yes I remember the guy who was promoting the Prius and the green vehicles so much, must be hiding under a rock by now when things go bad.
I dont think that you should do away with those cars, just that government should incentivize the public for using EV's and maybe promote people to replace and run them like the EV conversions done in other countries. cant be that hard with the new Battery tech etc.
Yeah I remember that chap has brought few cars to our office to promote them including a E-Golf. what I think is, Grey imported EVs never gonna workout without Dealer or Agent support, these should be imported with the support of Agent or dealer with after sales service and Parts. what happened to Leafs are purely because Car sale mudalalis during that period of time tried to earn some quick buck and our "herd" falls for that.

Hi,
I can see the chassis number of my Belta is only 12 digits long. Its KSP92~1011***. However I know it should be 17 digits long.
Any idea how do I convert this is 17 digits VIN?
Thanks
Belta is a JDM Vehicle (Japanese Domestic Vehicle - intended to use in Japan, but people export them here as Grey imports) JDM vehicles doesn't come with VIN Numbers but only Model codes KSP, NCP ZZT etc, (VINs are usually associate with Export intended vehicles like Yaris, Corolla 141 as examples).
