  1. For proper fixing, remove the door.. scrape off the rust on the hinges and panel.. apply rust converter, sync spray.. antirust primer, spray paint again.. (you will have to find a proper body shop and make sure they follow the procedure.. ) unless rust will surface again after sometime.. this looks like half a** job of a body shop..
  2. Have you checked with Agents (Toyota?) when I was servicing the injectors (Ultrasonic), I had to import it from Japan via partsouq. A*W was willing to sell the entire Injector although the part catalog says other wise. better check in Panchi and see whether they carry it separately if agents doesn't wanna sell them separately.
  3. You're talking about the Road which heading (Starts near Govijana sewa Office in Haldummulla) towards Needwood Tea factory and then towards the Idalgashinna Railway station right?. Yeah, Road is well paved up to the Tea factory. but beyond that I don't think a car can handle it.
  4. Hell no to these Snake oils. Second the @Crosswind comment.
  5. I dont think a Sedan can tackle that road. But for certain extent from Kalupahana side road is Asphalt paved (Carpet)
  6. Always use this Amazing road whenever im heading Nuwara eliya from Colombo. Experience is unimaginable. Usually leaving early morning from Nugegoda (4.00am) Balangoda via Galanigama Rathnapaura > Haputhale > Boralanda > Ohiya > Worlds end > Nuwara eliya. Planing to take the Devils staircase, but the road seems bit not satisfactory lately (after heavy falls) even for a proper 4WD. And i think i need Proper A/T tires before trying that route. @sathyajithj99 Yours is an AWD right? @K.o.N.o.S as others mentioned be extra careful on steep bends.
  7. Yeah, reminds me of MG crossover. Never a fan Blunt faced cars. Kinda dull to me.
  8. That's a nice Car @IndulaC Lal is in the business for sometime and are reputed and known for Cushion plus their Dashboard repairs (141s). me too also looking for a place to do the Fronts of the Vitara's Leather. scuffed and no tears. thought of showing it to the Deans and check their prices first. also in two minds whether convert it to the Fabric but need to do the Door cards if needs to convert it to the Fabric 🤔 Leather would be easier with the kids and spills etc. With DI engine, i think you need to use the additives anyway at some point, since top of the valve anyway not getting cleaned by Gasoline like non DI cars. Enjoy the Ride!
  9. I’m Driving a Grand Vitara 2006 AWD a 3rd Gen Vitara. If your looking for a AWD / 4WD, make sure to check the maintenance history. If not sort out properly, it will be expensive on maintenance. Regarding GV, parts would be slightly issue as even Agent doesnt carry most of parts. I had to order some parts online from japan. GV came with engine options like 2ltr, 2.7 ltr V6 and from 2009 onwards 2.4 ltr VVT enabled engine and 3.2 V6. There are Escudos as well which is the same car meant for Japanese domestic market with more bells and whistles like Seat heating, sunroof, mirror heating etc. look for Drive train noises from front and rear diffs and leaks from oil seals. Car is bit on the heavy side compared with rest like Rav 4. But more capable since it has a proper transfer case with multiple 4wd options.
  10. Wow Congrats mate! Thats a keeper! Looks to be in good nick! These are pretty robust vehicles Toyota has ever made. As @iRage mentioned if you maintain it properly you do not have to worry. As for the features, use https://partsouq.com and enter your VIN, it shows the options it has and the intended market etc. andnplus other things like parts etc.
  11. Haven’t use both above but BG 109 (EPR as they say now). Had good results with Vios 2006. Well its not heavily sludged in the first place and has removed the Yellowish varnish under the tappet cover. When changing the oil, oil has turned into darkened brown. After the oil change oil stayed yellow to dark yellow till 5k mark. Not sure how it will behave on highly sludged engine. So beware. Heard these are bad for valve stem seals. But in my case havent noticed any oil burn after use.
  12. Seems like the Entire Throttle body was at faulty. no wonder it costs 50K. for an Audi i would say this cost is reasonable (Given it's Brand New). @Tharaka Dias is it the same Part number replaced or a Revised part which has fixed the defect?
  13. Isn't these starter motors (Start stop) suppose to be more robust than motors in everyday cheap econoboxes, one of the office buddy had a Vitz with smartstop equipped not sure it has the same functionality like Audi, but that thing has done more than 24k for sure when he sold it (No issues whatsoever) and that was his daily drive. must be pure luck perhaps.
  14. Offroading in a 2WD crossover? 😂😂🤦🏽‍♂️
  15. Correct, 2nd Option would be the most suited, unless you can source the tid bits like Wiring harness, Unit etc from Yahoo auction or unit from the Maxima (i think these two are similar models?).
  16. Nicely done @Komisiripala nice to see interesting projects again in the forum. Would love to see some engine bay photos. ??
  17. Why would need to Replace an engine for Engine Oil burning?? after all you never know the condition of the replacement engine (If your replace it with a used engine). usual culprits would be Piston Rings (Usual tell tales are white / light blue smoke when you accelerate) Bad Valve stem seals (Smoking during Cold starts and accelerate after keep the engine idle for few minutes like 5-10Minutes. 90% of the time this would be the issue). these are pretty straight forward repair job which a competent mechanic can perform. you can refer below thread top to bottom for an idea on Overhauling an engine.
  18. We had a Luxel back in the day with Family. Much nicer refined drive than average Corollas. It was always a pleasant to drive with more horses under it. Auto box is reliable and smooth, no judderings or whatsoever. As iRage mentioned car came with additional features like chrome trim accents like Gated shifter, chrome tail garnish etc. as for cons and niggles, look for Chain tensioner leakage at back of the engine. This is not going to stop unless tensioner replaced with redesigned part which Toyota Lanka has. Overall look for a better maintained car. These engines (including 1.5 1NZ-FE) tend to sludging if not for proper oil changes. As fo the 1300 Models, mostly were imported for Company fleets. some of them even didn't had ABS as standard. it should do more on fuel as its coupled with Manual transmission.
  19. Not sure latest version of J20A (this came with earlier version of Grand Vitara 2006-2008 models) would suit? If yes then do a search on quick site. Good Luck!
  20. I think it’s high time Government ban these “Mudalali Jokers” importing vehicles to the country and regulate the industry properly.
  21. As a User of a Previous Gen Vitara, new one doesn't even come close to the previous one (Was expecting some thing similar to Latest Jimny like vehicle but). but new one stands out from the rest of the CUVs like iRage said. bit sad we are not getting the 1.4 or 1.6 version here due to the insane tax structure.
  22. Talking about Detailing, Recently Kleen*** quoted 27k for My Brothers IST 2007? ? thats of course for the full detailing job.
  23. Personally i would stay with good ol Waxing (Stick to good brand like Meguirs). As iRage mentioned above it would be a mess once it started to show its age and start deteriorate.
  24. Corolla 141 Facelift 2010 onward s. That's a bulletproof AT box.
