  1. Nope, Still under 10000km. yeah i think the same, probably i was the chosen one..
  2. Here is my experience with Sorento, Ordered one ( Not fully loaded) on May 2011, Around November 2011, Kia called me and told that this vehicle price is gone up by USD200, so i had to increase the LC by USD200 again. Got the vehicle to my hand on 6th Jan 2012, what a surprise, the FAT Salesman who thinks that we are buying vehicles from his money told me "Oh sir, it seems AC is not working in this car", it was around 8.30 pm on a Friday and raining. I had no choice but the take vehicle and go home, i said i ll be coming on next monday to fix the AC.So next monday, i went to Kia Motors and got the AC fixed. I must say, it is a good vehicle to drive, a lot of power compared with other vehicles of same type,Can beat V6 prados easily. Fuel consumption is not bad either, 9-10 kms per liter in the City and 10-13kms per liter long distance. So everything seems to be ok untill, one day it died on middle of the road on my way to colombo from kandy.it suddenly stopped without giving any sort of indication, Just died. Was a sunday, around 5pm at peradeniya, So i phoned KIA, Guy who answered the phone said, "Sir, we dont have anybody at the moment in Sri lanka as all staff have gone to Thailand on a company sponsored tour.If you could get it towed to company we will pay the towing fee" I told him that i am not gonna tow it to company but to my parent's house.and asked them to come and get it from there. They didnt come on next day, but tuesday , they picked the vehicle from my parent's place and towed to Kia Motors. For next few days, i called them and the answer was like 'Sir we couldn't find the fault yet, We are still trying,we are now trying to get help from Kia motors Korea." So on friday they said, it was a problem with ECU, it need to be replaced, and they have ordred one from Korea. It took another week for them to get it down and fix to vehicle. Luckily, i had the Warranty, i cant imagine a situation if this happened to a warranty expired vehicle. So i thought everything is ok now, untill i found out that wiper is not working properly, its timing is out order, i think it is a result of newly fixed ECU. anyway i have to take the vehicle again to KIA Motors to get it fixed. I am not living in colombo, i dont drive to colombo daily,Either i use public transport or the transport provided by my company, Iam really fed up with this now.
  3. Thanks Guys. @g-unit - What you say is correct, but i wont be just staying at Nuwwara Eliya, might go Horton Plains, Ambewela, Bandarawela..etc. So it is a 3 day trip.
  4. Guys, are there service stations at NuwaraEliya to buy Super Diesel? Iam planing to go Nuwara Eliya on coming Wesak Holidays, I own a Sorento and she drinks only Super Diesel. I will be leaving from Kandy. Has any of you purchased Super Diesel from Nuwara Eliya? Or Kandy - Nuwara Eliya route?
  5. I ordered a Sorento 6 months ago and still waiting, They said they have ordered around 1500 nos of Sorentos, Due to high demand for this type, waiting period for new vehicle has been increased. Another thing is, they have increased the price of Sorent by $200, that is $100 for vehicle and $100 for delivery.
  6. Nope, it doesn't. They import only petrol Sportage.
  7. Thanks a lot guys,After seen some reply s, it really worth to have a second thought. Anyway just got the proforma invoice for the Sorento, but didn't open the LC yet, I still don't mind go with tucson, if they can delivered it within a reasonable time, Phoned Hyundai while ago and didn't get any favorable answer. So i ll stick with Sorento. Velocity, when it comes to the 2nd hand market, i believe even a Hyundai will have the same value as it is a Korean vehicle. Don't wanna go for a euro as i have seen a lot ppl face so much troubles when it comes to maintenance. Thanks again for your valuable inputs.
  8. There is another guy called "Aruna" who has a peugeot garage at his back yard, lives around battaramulla - koswatta area.when my uncle had a peugot , i remeber he used to go there. let me know, if u need his phone #.
  9. Sorry for digging up this thread again. Finally my sis agreed to give her vehicle permit to me to buy a new toy.Thinking of getting a korean beauty, Did a little bit of research and made my mind to buy a Hyundai Tucson, so went to the Hyundai show room at battharamulla and found out that it takes more than year to get it down the tucson here. I cant wait that long, so went for the Kia.Compared with the look of tucson, i think sorento looks more a man vehicle than hyundai. My budget is limited to 4M, hence i cant go for the fully loaded baby, besides i dont need leather seats and sun roof.As the price of the stock vehicle starts from 3.5m, i decided to add more options to match with by budget.a tip tronic tranny, 4WD, 18' alloys, dual ac with climate/cruise+ teliscopic steering and the rear spoiler. 1. What is down hill brake system and is it worth to add for the price tag ($300)? 2. Saw somewherer that auto tranny has blown out in some countries. Therefore should i stick to old manual tranny than getting the tip tronic one? Then again my wife wont happy with that idea. 3. Sales man at kia told fuel consumption is around 8-10 in city with AC. Can any current owner of a sorento veryfi that? 4. Heard that after service of the kia is not that good, Is it true? 5. Sales man told me the toy can be delivered within 5 months. Can it be true? 6. What are the other options i have than go with kia with my 4 m budget? (SUVs) eventhough i have made my mind to get this one, your inputs on this will be very helpfull.
