This quote really hit me in the feels. AL forums have given me lifelong friendships along with great sound advice from an amazing group of members. And I'd hate for it to be another generic thel higanna forum. So here's my bit to harken back 'the good old days' Basically I'm painting my car red. Most older members here will remember my MG 2 sri 355. The car has been with us for almost half a century. It has been in many of late Lester James Peiris movies most notably 'Delowak Athara' where its basically a main actor alongside Tony Ranasinghe.(The plot is based around a hit and run accident caused by my car). I inherited this car, So I didn't buy it...And I'm paying other people to do it up. So I sure am not building it either. If you want more hands on, DIY projects done by me, please search for my older threads posted around 2008-2012. I know it looks good in black, but I want it in original red which is the colour on reg book.

Just a minor update. Washed and waxed her. So far has been off-roading over 10 times. Performed very well. She’s been to all the parks in the country. 0 issues. But then again my brother is highly experienced off-road, so that might be why its been a breeze. We actually have plans to swap the KE-31 and drop a 4dr6. OR overhaul the KE-31 and upgrade it for more power.

The jeep is back home from the Jungle life. ZERO issues for them 5 days. 1000 plus kms(mostly deep off-roading). One full tank(4 liters less after the stainless steel lining) sand a 20L jerry can. So yeah Its super good on fuel. With AC and 2 passengers. The AC was even used inside kumana and had no issues. It went places where even the big boys stuttered(I’m guessing light and smaller size plus skilled driving helped). Even though the tires are butt ugly. They are original Dunlops made for land masters, which turned out to have bags of grip. Wading as also not an issue. Mainly due to Zero electronics, we were able to go deep. On the way back there was HEAVY rain all the way from Kumana to Colombo, 9 hour nonstop journey with constant AC and vipers/lights etc working, the thing was having no issues. Lights are also powerful and the yellow fogs always help. Next up it needs a stereo and speakers. Nothing crazy though. Just two in the front and two in the back. No amps No subs. Single din pioneer with cd/usb/radio/bluetooth. And a magnetic phone holder for maps and media playback. Thought of going for Bluetooth as its bit loud on high speed and holding the phone while driving is not cool. Also Bought a pair of walkies to take back when I can get back. Out of all our cars, this is easily the most loved and biggest stress reliever/happy machine. Makes life come close to how it’s shown on Instagram. Pics in Kumana Jungle Entrance.
