  1. A well maintained Perodua will be a good choice. Not a bad car at all. As kush said stretch the budget a bit and you can try a Picanto OR an Axia. Yeah well Starlets are ridiculously overpriced BUT there's an abundance of recon parts and are very very simple cars. Parts are interchangeable and there's crazy mod potential if you're into that. For your budget a well maintained EP91 is definitely possible but of course the newest Starlet you'll be getting is 21 years old..if your mind can get over that fact that's an option ? Also if you want to bring space and practicality into the equation Honda Fit GD1(non hybrid) is an option. Not sure a GE6 is possible now with current price inflation.

  3. Also @iRage since you mentioned Prados, LC200's and LC70's.... So hypothetically speaking, if you had to go cross country through mainly 200km of unpaved roads along with some (maybe 2-5km) of crazy Kabilitha type mud tracks and river crossing sections in order to deliver parts, medical supplies or say address a leak at some dam in a remote area: Which of the vehicles from the fleet are you going to take? A Prado, LC200, or a LC70. (Assume all three vehicles have snorkels, 31 inch mud tires, and identical V6 petrol engines) (No point asking @kmeeg : He's going to make a run for the LC70 faster than a MP reaching out for his car permit...!!)

  4. So pathetic to see how these so called "Car sale owners" are manipulating the prices of vehicles which they have already imported. These crooks try to make super profits by creating rumors in the market. On the other hand, they use their network and contacts to buy used vehicles from private owners and resell at high prices with fat margins. It's so hilarious to see cars in the likes of Toyota Allions/Premios which are older than 10 years & clocked more than 100k in mileage are being advertised at 05 million or more for sale?? Don't panic right now if you are looking to buy a vehicle & wait patiently till the speculation is over in the coming months. Don't waste your hard earned money at a time when income sources of general public are restricted due to the pandemic. Prices will automatically come down when there's no demand for such high-priced vehicles ?

  7. The other benefit of going to Drive One would be when selling your car in Sri Lanka. People would prefer an agent maintained vehicle with service records. I'm not saying Sunway is bad or anything, just the mindset in SL car market. I am servicing mine at Drive One and mine was a grey import. So I had to pay that 50k for the initial service as well. Second service if I recall correctly was around 32k. This was for an A3.

  8. Changed my Viva Elite timing belt as a DIV task on last weekend. Added some images for reference. The new belt has two stripes to make the job easier.
