  1. I too would recommend Sikkens. Used both Debeer and Sikkens on different cars but for my ones I used Sikkens. At the time it was mainly because it was easier to color match as it had a rather wide color palette (it is also an OEM paint for manufacturers). Based on what I observed we used a lot less paint as well as the color popped out and was placed with lesser coats (looked in to at the time and if I remember correct Sikkens had a very high color pigment ratio). Deeber and SIkkens are equally good. At the end of the day what will make a paint job good or bad is more about the prep work (how the body was fixed, how much filler was used, was it cut properly, was it cleaned properly, how good was the primer and how well was it applied, etc...).

  3. Update on this @iRage @aamarakoon @harshansenadhir I went to Toyota and they told me it is a grinding noise of the coilover and it is common. Which I eaxctly heard from the Japan toyota club member. I am going to live with this for now.

  4. CRV 2012-2016 has very smooth ride for a car on steel springs. Much better than that of RAV4. But at a compromise in handling which might not matter to 95% of the demography. No idea on Harrier, should be better as it is from a class above. Test drive and see these are personal preferences.

  5. So I recon this is not a unregistered car being a 2013 model unless it has been lying in a yard or at customs for over 4-5 years. If it is used in SL for 4-5 years after registration forget about the JAAI as it will only give a indication on the condition when the car was imported. Get a good inspection done at the Agent or a specialist.

  6. The jeep is back home from the Jungle life. ZERO issues for them 5 days. 1000 plus kms(mostly deep off-roading). One full tank(4 liters less after the stainless steel lining) sand a 20L jerry can. So yeah Its super good on fuel. With AC and 2 passengers. The AC was even used inside kumana and had no issues. It went places where even the big boys stuttered(I’m guessing light and smaller size plus skilled driving helped). Even though the tires are butt ugly. They are original Dunlops made for land masters, which turned out to have bags of grip. Wading as also not an issue. Mainly due to Zero electronics, we were able to go deep. On the way back there was HEAVY rain all the way from Kumana to Colombo, 9 hour nonstop journey with constant AC and vipers/lights etc working, the thing was having no issues. Lights are also powerful and the yellow fogs always help. Next up it needs a stereo and speakers. Nothing crazy though. Just two in the front and two in the back. No amps No subs. Single din pioneer with cd/usb/radio/bluetooth. And a magnetic phone holder for maps and media playback. Thought of going for Bluetooth as its bit loud on high speed and holding the phone while driving is not cool. Also Bought a pair of walkies to take back when I can get back. Out of all our cars, this is easily the most loved and biggest stress reliever/happy machine. Makes life come close to how it’s shown on Instagram. Pics in Kumana Jungle Entrance.

  7. I guess you tried the online search on jpauction right ? It doesnt usually return the report, I suppose unless no one has already paid and retrieved the report so that it will be added in the repository. You'll have to pay 20$ and order a manual search for the chassis no. It takes couple of days, but it will work. And as I recall they dont charge the card if they can not find it.

  8. I have taken my Audi to D*MO Bosch/Vishwa and then to Drive 1 for various requirements and decided to stick with Drive one I would not recommend Bosch - Shitty service Vishwa is okish. Mind you i have done some minor repairs with them for rat attacks. Observing their work it seems they have lost focus on quality. Drive one - I did vehicle service plus some minor repairs (Sunroof and few other stuff). They did a good job plus cost was not that inflated i thought. lalana is also ex Vishwa motors i think but not sure.

  9. Wow this was a long time ago. It used to be called SHA Auto Spa or something back then, and I remember the business changing hands and going through a rebranding several years ago. I just checked on Google StreetView and it seems to be called Senu Lanka. Not sure of their quality now or if they do painting at all.

  11. A quick Google search reveals that the two part numbers are interchangeable. The 301 is probably a revision of 300. So you can use either. What's the issue with your distributor? I f the cap is cracked or something, you can just purchase the cap instead of the whole unit.

  12. Both headlights of my Vitz 130 were stolen by thieves while parked overnight in car park of a service centre next to my house. Police is suspecting kuddos and shows no hurry to investigate. Got them replaced at my own expense and waiting for the insurance to reimburse. ?
