Also that engine bay looks like a nightmare to even look at. Imagine working on it. * Screaming “its an endless money pit” in Scotty Kilmer (hate that guy) voice *2 points

Forget everything else. Still prefer them round quad-lights. Never liked the rear end on these either. Then again I’m biased towards older BMW’s. Too much plastic on these new cars. Made to swap every few years. specially in western countries where you “lease” it for 3 Years and get rid of it. My 96’ A4 had felt lining even the door bins. The A6 has it a rubber mat thing, but no lining. Going down in quality for sure. Give me an E34 M5 as my only car and I won’t change it for life!2 points

A friend bought a 2020 M2 Competition recently. 331kW and 550Nm of Twin Turbo straight six glory! Revvs all the way to redline with absolutely no signs of lag! A bit too much power and torque for the rear wheels to cope with at times, but lots of fun! Here`s the little beast next to my little nugget.!! Surprisingly, almost the same length. Track and width is a different story I know one cannot compare 400+ HP and 2020 design and chassis dynamics to a 30 year old car, but to be totally honest, the E30 still gives me more smiles per gallon! Maybe it`s just me.2 points

Yeah...my kids have the Citizenship certificate....I did not know that a kid already a citizen needed one because he/she would already be a citizen...but I suppose it makes sense as the new citizenship means the old one is void. Yes...asset transfer to kids is not an issue the issue and grey area is for the foreign spouse Quite a few foreigners in SL who has had their spouses pass away and are in a state of limbo with property assets as well as visa (because for spouse visa the spouse needs to endorse it and well..dead people cannot endorse anything....the spouses get special stay pass for limited time slots under special circumstances..but nothing permanent) .At least this was the case 5 years ago....people were lobbying to change it which the government was not helpful about (albeit the immigration people were).1 point

Going through the posts and comments made on the FB groups is also the same. Just makes me realize that our country's majority is a bunch of idiots. No wonder we are still a developing country and our society has gone down the drain. Looking at their cars...these are Doctors, Engineers (those we consider to be educated) and with school badges from all the so called elite school.1 point

Using 0W-20 is not a hard fast requirement. Manufacturers recommend the 20 weight oil for fuel efficiency (the thinner oil creates less surface resistance thus the engine finds it easier to move). However, lighter oils thin out under high temperatures (like what you would experience on long runs in hot weather...or long sitting around in traffic times or even spirited driving). So manufacturers do recommend heavier oils for better heat absorption (there are ranges where 20/30 and even 40 work). When engines reach high mileages people are told to use heavier oils because with average wear and tare the engine would have a bit of "loss in compression"-ness that is natural (its like after all that grinding and rubbing the surfaces are slightly worn out so it is not as tight as it used to be <-- now that is a sentence I never thought I would say over here). The heavier oil with its added resistance creates that bit of tightness that has been lost. Whether you need it or not..depends on the condition of your engine. It is not an absolute must....nor is it an absolute not needed thing either. There are plenty of threads discussing the merits of using a thin (20) oil vs a heavier oil (30) so do a search and see what works for you.1 point

Agreed. Opportunists will always try to make a quick buck, but that doesn't mean we have to fall for their nonsense hook line and sinker... (Its a bit like complaining about politicians: Its our own fault for electing them really: If we kicked out the corrupt ones by not re-electing them back into parliment, the other buggers would fall into line gradually...)1 point

Also a pic of the ol’ girl. Dusty at the moment. Needs them new tires badly. Fun fact- There are other more @PreseaLover‘s it seems. Few people started following my bro and stalking him asking “denawada” ? Every time we take it out around Colombo, there is always a small party of people(mostly in their 60 and 70’s) standing by it with memories and war memorabilia. Always open to a chat about these ol’ girls. People seem to love that we Preserved the old school looks and not pimp it with humongous tires and tacky add ons. Most of the restored examples follow a herd and try to pimp it up unnecessarily, almost all have lost that original look. Thanks for the interest guys. We will do a proper photoshoot and a detailed review once everything is done.1 point

Well, if I were you I would get a quote for the same parts and repair else where as well and see. If you can get the suspension parts at cheaper rates I guess any garage would be able to handle the suspension related repairs at a lesser cost than this. Kia labour charges are high it seems.. Same with engine mounts, bushes and pulley repairs and can be expected with the mileage. Get a quotation for the genuine parts outside and see. I guess you could use the turbo charger a bit more unless the previous owner has ruined it somehow?? ? Check and see if there are reconditioned AC vents available that would be a lot cheaper I guess. Another strategy you could follow would be to attend to the things that need immediate attention and sort out the rest little by little..1 point
