  2. Did some shooting of few of my models out of boredom. Just phone captures so please mind the lightning and white background. The actual models look much better, dont think im doing justice here.

  3. Nice car man! Makes me miss mine. Such a good car. The amount of features and the quality for a 2006 and up jap car is amazing.

  4. Yes the brand name is called "Chanda" and the first model to be launched is called "gundu" And the factory will be built slightly past Kuliyapitiya this time. On a serious note, there's no business case for this country to create an automotive industry. Our domestic market is too small. Our labour is expensive and lazy. Electricity is prohibitively pricey, There's nothing we can source locally for making cars. Everything needs to be imported. And penetrating the international market is impossible without a multi-billion dollar marketing budget, which no one can afford. There was no business case during Upali Wijewardene's time and there's no business case now. We can blame politicians and people, but the real reason for the automotive industry not taking off, is the lack of business justification. We need to specialize in a few industries that we are good at. For a small country like Sri Lanka, that's more than enough. We are not India or China. Only Premadasa understood that and built a garment manufacturing specialism in this country. Sri Lankan clothing industry professionals are highly sought after, all over the world, even today. We can certainly build components to vehicles like what Rohan Pallewatta is doing. But that's it. End of rant!

  6. As we all go through some sort of lockdown and are being directed to stay at home and practice social distancing, car manufacturers are coming up with ideas to keep the motor heads home bound....here are some selections from the Japanese manufacturers... TIP : You will need 120gsm+ paper. If you do not have access to that (or your printer cannot handle it...just print it on normal 80 or 100 paper and paste it on thin/handycraft cardboard. Part 1: Something for my petrol head friends....here is something to help you get through lockdown ..for those with car loving kids and the kid at ❤️ PAPER CRAFT CARS ! 7. Thanks bro. Still miss her. Much better drive than the newer Honda's. Hated the Grace we replaced it with. Get a mugen bodykit on her. A good intake and a Custom exhaust. Bit more power to suit the kit and sounds muvh better.

  9. I'm not sure if home visiting mechanics have the right tech to fix. If you are open to taking it to a mechanic place this is the most trusted place I have. With my experience they don't mess up things. If there is anything that they can't do they bring in an expert or take the part to an expert and get it fixed correctly. So far the most genuine people I've met. (No they are not my relatives to give a comment like this.) Mithila garage - 0112368636 129/3, Nawala Road, Narahenpita.

  10. Yes...the BRV was there...but did Stafford manage to sell any of them ? Honda has indicated that the Vezel will be refreshed next year....not sure if we will see it later this year or early next year. Honda has confirmed that it will continue to use the Fit base..

  11. @iRage the HRV hybrid equipped with the i-DCD system was launched outside of Japan last year wasn't it? Is there any news of an updated Vezel/ HRV with the new i-MMD system launched with the new FIT anytime soon? Yes ,the HRV, BRV (this is offered by the agent here) and CRV trio

  15. If you can find one just to build on what @iRage said, the Mazda 2 (sedan & hatch) imported by Colonial Motors (local agents) is also a solid choice. Good engine, great gearbox!

  16. The 2014-2015 Mazda 3 doesn't really fit the highlighted above...Plus the two vehicles you've settled on seem aimed at different market segments so I'm a bit confused as to why they would both be a good fit... Quick question: Since you're overseas, why do you need a car in SL? Is it for your parents? Are you looking to hire it out?

  17. If you think of buying Allion/Premio/Axio look for a first owner car with agent maintenance probably a permit imported one. Only looks for a car that is in possession with an actual owner not a sale bayya with open papers. Pay your attention to the maintenance history and overall condition of the car other than options and shiny bits. Once you find a good specimen there's nothing much to go wrong as they are relatively simple cars mechanically apart from the CVT transmission.

  18. True...they are good A to B cars...the problem is finding an honest car.

  19. Lancer ? I am not recommending cars like Allions, Premios and Axios because...they are over priced and over used and has had a hard life. So for your budget you are only going to get a rather old vehicle (with time suspended mileages because they never do more than 75,000kms after the 10 year mark) that has been shined up to be sold off. The Lancer EX...you have a much higher chance of finding a really good car which has been bought brand new and maintained by the agent from the beginning. The owners are not the typical "budget conscious" cheapo types. SO cars will be in better condition (relatively). You will find a newer car than the Toyota offerings for the same price or even cheaper. No matter what the car salesmen and the neighbor's daughter's boyfriend's colleague's uncle says....cars other than Toyotas do sell well. Any car will sell as long as it is honest. The people who come to buy a Lancer from you will usually be the type who appreciates the car and will not try to cheat you off by putting the car down and offering you dirt cheap prices. You might want to check the Mazda 3/Axela as well....

  20. LANCER EX- Life before me Found an awesome set of old clicks of my lancer courtesy of my good friend Elnino. It seems she had quite an eventful life before settling down with me in my remote village. Thought of sharing some pics to have a glimpse of her past.
