  7. My fellow AL Guys, I have been an avid autolanka member since I got my first car (Mazda demio) back in 2017.One thing that always intrigued me was how much AL members loved their lancers. So I always thought to my self what would it be like to own one. I have read every posts/discussions related to lancers ( AL Famous BRATT tread- that was one hell of a tread and I read all 32 pages of it) and I always questioned myself "is this actually good as members claim it to be? so I decided a give it a try. Long story short, when I saw this advert on autolanka about a month a back my eyes were completely fixated on this beauty. it was one of the most beautiful lancers I have seen. However at that point I had some other personal issues to take care of and my mind was not in a good mood to concentrate on the car. After sometime back I was surprised to see the lancer was still on classifieds. I thought it would be gone. So I contacted the seller, who confirmed me that the car was still available. I was over the moon and 2 days after I went to inspect the car and that was it. Knew she was meant to be mine.I paid an advance after inspecting and reserved the car for myself. ( hats off to the previous owner who is a Known lancer enthusiast for properly taking care of the car) It took another 2 weeks to sort out the finances for myself ( to sell my Demio and arrange the rest of the funds). and Last Friday I brought the lancer to my rural village. couldn't be more happier. I would like to thank AL members specially Davy,Trinity and the rest of the AL Lancer guys who made me a lancer lover and eventually an owner. So without further ado I bring to you " Evangeline" ( I bought this ride for her.Had to name the car after my daughter). More pics and updates to follow.

  11. Both cars will serve you well if you find well maintained specimens. I assume you're looking at the first gen Vios (XP40) and not the XP90 (known as Belta-body in Sri Lanka and looks like yaris/belta) these cars are time proven and tough machines BUT they're almost 15 years old now and have faced a lot of abuse. You have a better chance of getting a newer Tiida. I've been in both and the Tiida is a bit more comfier and feels more refined than the Vios. If you can find an unabused Vios go for it ...or else the Tiida isn't too bad a choice. Keep your options open and look for both. Once you find a good unit go for it.

  12. Well obviously the seller wouldn't want the buyer to have high expectations about a quick delivery and receive bad feedback if the parcel gets delayed ne. That aside even the snail paced chinapost managed to deliver my Aliexpress orders within 2-3 weeks, I'd expect this to arrive within maximum 2 weeks

  14. If its just the radiator cap which was faulty i think the price is bit higher. I replaced mine but costed me only 750 LKR. Anyways, glad you were able to resolve your issue. Happy motoring

  18. I usually watch Mat Watson’s reviews on Carw*w. He’s pretty unbiased and able to review any car from a Celerio to a Flying Spur and then to a LaFerrari. He gives a well explained review of the Corolla.

  21. Yes ! Vitara is pricier because it is much more car ! The Vitara used to be a competitor for the RAV4 in the past but now it has been re-positioned as a competitor for the C-HR. Oh right...the Daihatsu Boned... Well..this is their very first car that is based on their DNGA platform...which is pretty much a derivative of Toyota's TNGA platform. So lets hope some of the niggles have been resolved. A typical japanese play on English words that is just ridiculous... Raize comes from the the car being Raised and the active lifestyle it gives you leaves you surprised and amazed (or some balony like that)...Thus..Raized....

  22. Just seeing this. 32K for an ABS sensor is ridiculous. I too think eBay (or Amayama or Partsouq) would be your best bet. As for Mahinda, specifically ask him if he has brand new ones. He imports used parts, so the one you get might have the inherent issue. But then again, if you get the sensor for a good price, then just go for it and pray that it isn't a lemon.

  23. Hey, Didn't they re calibrate CVT after the oil change. Issue is that. Just changing CVT oil is not enough & cause issues. CVT re-calibrate has to be done. Then only system identifies new oil pressure, oil capacity, oil weight & do transmission decisions based on new values. Ask them to re-calibrate. If they don't have that OBD port scanner used for it, do it from outside place. issue should go away
