  2. So I took the Vitara to the A*W inspection camp in Kandy today, well impressed as they are quite aware of the model and the technical aspects, however It was hoist inspection, suspension and the scan tool, which again they said is compatible with UK imports. all in all it was a good effort

  5. Its just a good old jap hatch with a bit more space than usual...nothing expensive the CVT issue was due to people not doing the oil changes in a timely manner. http://rayazmuthalif.wordpress.com/2008/07/08/how-to-avoid-cvt-gearbox-failures-in-honda-city-fit-jazz-a-sri-lankan-perspective/ A friend of mine owns one...actually she's been driving it for ages now and boy she meets with an accident at least once a month and her usage pattern...is well lets just say she doesn't maintain it well and that thing still keeps running.

  6. There is a tax on deeds of gift but it is much lower than that in a deed of transfer. Also note that the tax depends on the declared value of the property.

  8. 10years is a long time for even a japanese kei with smaller 660cc Engine. Would be time for engine repairs and also transmission (AT version).

  9. Myth....original ones, especially from the agents are more or less the same. In some cases Stafford was cheaper for our CRV than Toy Lanka is for the RAV4. The thing is there are far more fake and 3rd party parts (in varying quality and price points) for a Toyota than a Honda.

  10. Other than the 15,000km CVT fluid change, those honda engines were pretty solid. Saying that about the “expensive maintenance”...Yes, those two words are surely going to spill out from any typical SL car owners mouth, right after saying “Honda”. Honda parts are a “bit” pricier than Toyota ones, but that’s not an issue to own a Honda. Also there is a bit of a problem when it comes to finding parts as it was not imported to SL in heaps like those Vitz and 121 models.

  11. Go to a lawyer and get a caveat done for the deed. Until it is removed, the property cannot be re-registered under anyone's name. You actually don't need the original deed to carry out any transaction. If the buyer agrees/understands, you can do a future transaction without the original deed. If you wish, you may lodge a complaint in the police, but there's no surefire way of getting an original deed, unless it is a 'bim saviya' deed. You can also do a gift transfer to a family member. This will allow you to get an original deed. Just do the caveat before anything else.
