  2. It seems finally you bought one.Congratulations !!!. Guess your cars brakes not modified. It is said that MMs brakes are weak by born. Mine also had very weak brakes when bring to home. Drove around 120km and had to press paddle 2-3 time to slow down the car. Could not exceed 30kmh and avoided all main cities. As I was aware cars condition, already planned rural roads. When I started disassembling it for restoration process found that back wheel oil seals leaked differential oil to the brake drums. See picture. Not sure you checked the drums yet. I suggest you to do the repairs in your home. As I have heard enough bad stories about restoring old cars in garages. Once they disassembled the parts/car the power goes to mechanic/garage owner. We need to obey what they say. Doing things in our home is other hand. Anytime we can change the mechanic. So think about it. Also try to find some old set of spanners which suit for old cars and try do things your self. Old cars are simple machines. There are many sites and fb groups for Morris minor cars which is very helpful. For tinker works too try to find a person who can visit to your place. Expend Rs 2000 - 3000 to bring his tools to your home. In my cars I am doing most things myself and still in the painting process. Willing to write a blog here soon.

  4. Hi, First, adjust the temp controller to min. you're currently driving with the heater slightly on. ! the frequent turning on of the compressor may be due to previous owner reducing the cooling to save fuel. ever considered a light window tint? Yes the a/c system puts a noticeable strain on the engine,,. switch off when you need extra power. and wash the condenser when your washing the car to maintain cooling efficiency. make sure the cooling fan freely runs with the a/c on. |behind the rad And keep the interior re-circulation fully on,.. p.s. add a pic of the a/c control panel/,.

  6. 18.5 to buy a 6 on a permit eh? Phew- if that's the case I'd put my money down on a used 2016 6. They go for around 8.5 mil or so. Get the 2.5 litre one- has a lot more oomph than the 2.0 litre ones and a lot more toys and it has a better looking front grille. Most of these cars must still be maintained at Colonial so you could always get it checked there.

  7. If you need to ask the question..then buy the Premio Okay..here is the serious answer... The 2019 Premio is in fact a 10+ year old design/platform with as many updates it can possibly handle done to it. This is the last year for the Premio and Allion as it will be scratched of from production and the current model barely meets Japanese regulations. The Premio is a cozy little A to B sort of car. Fairly comfortable and reliable and decent creature comforts (not the latest and the greatest though). However for the price we Sri Lankans pay for it; it simply is not worth it in my view. Its an economical car...the 1.5L variant is a bit under-powered and boring but if you get your hands on the 1.8 or even 2L variants it is a lot more peppier. It is comfy because the suspension is soft as a result it feels like driving a boat. The steering is light and has minimal feedback..so it doesn't encourage you to drive spiritedly at all but it will get you from A to B with no fuss. The issue is in Sri Lanka 99% of Premio owners think they have the greatest car on the planet and it is an indestructable sports sedan. The Mazda is the underdog. It is an amazing car...the SkyActive platform (remember Skyactive is an integrated platform) with the engine is rather involving experience. It has the latest and greatest tech. The Premio if properly maintained with actual original parts and proper garages it will be the same as maintaining the 6...however, I do beleive there are a lot of really really cheap parts for the Toyota (which I would not recommend) and every maka baas on the side of the street things they can fix it. It might not be the case with the 6.

  8. Government is going to reduce the tax free limit to 2 Million for a permit. So you will not be able to get any of these two for that budget.
