  1. So, I went to Autodrome last Tuesday and here’s what happened. I showed all my service records and bills and showed my tires to the manager at the service station. He went through all the documents and inspected the tires and even he could not come up with a good explanation on what may have caused this unusual wear on my tires. He checked the alignment of the tires as well and there was a slight misalignment which may have attributed to the ware but it was not the sole reason. I asked him that I previously ran on Dunlops, GT’s and Nankangs which lasted for more than 30K but why does these Bridgestones gone flat in just 15,000km’s? So, he was like, Dunlops are hard but these ecopias are built for comfort and fuel efficiency and they tend to wear of quickly even due to slight misalignments. But I asked him even so, you expect them to last at least 30k isn’t it? He acknowledged it but again re-iterated they have to be taken care of. In the end he offered me a new set of tires at a very low price. He offered 11k for 17k worth tires at a special discount which was actually a good deal. I didn’t have complete evidence to back my claim as I have lost one of my wheel alignment reports and he was saying that these tires can ware off even due to a slight misalignment. So, all in all people at the place was very helpful and I think the offer was reasonable as well. But, with his comments I was reluctant to go ahead with Ecopia’s again even though he promised me a higher mileage with them given that the wheel alignments should be done with them at 5000km intervals. So, my verdict on Bridgestone Ecopia 200’s (Thailand) is, it gives you a very comfortable ride with minimum road feel but that comfort is provided by sheets of rubber which melts like butter on sri lankan roads. So even with very good care, they will not last long. I believe when you purchase your tires; you need to consider the country of origin as well. I believe the durability of Japanese Bridgestone’s are still way ahead compared to the Thailand ones. And it’s time for tire hunting elsewhere…

  2. My fellow AL Guys, I have been an avid autolanka member since I got my first car (Mazda demio) back in 2017.One thing that always intrigued me was how much AL members loved their lancers. So I always thought to my self what would it be like to own one. I have read every posts/discussions related to lancers ( AL Famous BRATT tread- that was one hell of a tread and I read all 32 pages of it) and I always questioned myself "is this actually good as members claim it to be? so I decided a give it a try. Long story short, when I saw this advert on autolanka about a month a back my eyes were completely fixated on this beauty. it was one of the most beautiful lancers I have seen. However at that point I had some other personal issues to take care of and my mind was not in a good mood to concentrate on the car. After sometime back I was surprised to see the lancer was still on classifieds. I thought it would be gone. So I contacted the seller, who confirmed me that the car was still available. I was over the moon and 2 days after I went to inspect the car and that was it. Knew she was meant to be mine.I paid an advance after inspecting and reserved the car for myself. ( hats off to the previous owner who is a Known lancer enthusiast for properly taking care of the car) It took another 2 weeks to sort out the finances for myself ( to sell my Demio and arrange the rest of the funds). and Last Friday I brought the lancer to my rural village. couldn't be more happier. I would like to thank AL members specially Davy,Trinity and the rest of the AL Lancer guys who made me a lancer lover and eventually an owner. So without further ado I bring to you " Evangeline" ( I bought this ride for her.Had to name the car after my daughter). More pics and updates to follow.

  4. Maintained my Fit at both JaEla and Maradana from 2015-2018. (Mostly Maradana actually) I didn't have any major reasons for complain other than maybe the fact they're a bit lenient for instance when I wanted to change the air filter they said 'na sir oken thawa tikak duwanna puluwan'. Other than that the service advisers at Maradana were quite friendly and approachable. And yes I don't sit in the waiting room but walk to the wash bays and service areas. My experience so far has been quite ok. One boo-boo at Jaela is they don't have microfiber as someone else posted. can you elaborate what the bad experience was? sort of true - I agree it's not acceptable that you have to push them to check if items are ok or not

  5. My CRV was maintained by them for 5 Years (2013-2018) at their Maradana Center no complains, it is bit congested. Rates are reasonable, staff friendly and most importunately they completed the service at the time agreed.

  6. Yes, I have done only once in 2015. Very bad experience with my wife's GP5. Sump protection cover (plastic item) was not fixed properly and they did not accept my complain, made on following day once it was noticed. Then they have not replaced a/c filter after cleaning. But in the booklet they mentioned ac filter was cleaned.I noticed this matter when vehicle was taken to next service in service station situated at Dematagoda area next to Cargills.

  7. Hi Guyz, Hope I've selected the correct section to post my thread. I have a Daihatsu MIra 2017 New Face version. Yesterday I suddenly hit the vehicle in a bump and damaged the gear box cover. Appreciate if you could let me know a place to buy a new gear box and a place to fix the gear box. Thank you in advance guyz. Regards geek

  10. PLEASE READ THIS BEFORE YOUR NEXT PURCHASE!!!One of my friend bought a 2017 registered and used premio. The car has done 31k kms.The car was bought for reselling. When I went to have a look, I found a service tag inside the front cupholder saying “next service 46XXX kms” and the service station is from the city where he had bought the car. When he noticed that I came to know about the truth, his face turned black and, acted like nothing has happened. Also stopped talking for a few seconds. So the true mileage should have been 41xxx kms. It seems that he has tampered the meter after buying the car, because the previous seller would never leave the service tag inside the car after changing the mileage. He is a very close friend mine and he still pretends like the mileage is true, even if he knows that I don’t have the money to buy it...Even by 10k kms,the mileage has been changed. Now it has become something like a trend☹️ Be careful on your next vehicle purchase guys.

  11. Thanks for all your replies. I have to confess that I never researched about the car before buying. Blame it on my immaturity (I'm 25). 1. The seller keeps saying it is GL. Has the highest "market" when I haggle. According to him the bage upholstery and door panels are also in demand. 2. Clock, spedo, odo, trip are functional. 3. I thought the three-dimond and mmc was some aftermarket addition. Thanks for confirming it's the default. 4. Never knew the buffer was black. I thought some makabas had painted it black. I will regret not having a chrome buffer. I love the chrome trims. (May be I'll swap out the buffer for a chrome one later) 5. There's no rust under the front vent. I'll post a picture of it tomorrow. 6. I never looked at "good examples". Only at bargains. 7. Sorry, @Sierra Charlie, I've already made something like an impulse purchase. Blame it on my immaturity. Thanks a lot for your offer to help. I'll drop you a PM. 8. @MrCat, my choice is definitely not the best that I can get. That said, I'll learn a lot from this. I plan to use 3d printing and CNC milling to make the bits and pieces as per original specifications. Let's see how this goes. 9. @Twin Turbo, mechanics is my first priority. I think I'll have to start with the steering box. Please elaborate on "re-core the rad to a3 core unit if te car doesn't have one" I'm a noob. Please explain in terms that I can Google. Do you mean to say rebore the engine?
