  1. No....they are both slope modes for engine braking/holding gears a bit longer...the only thing with S mode is that he parameters are slightly different so you can use it moderately when you need that bit of extra oomph on a slight uphill. Again..NOT for sports driving though !!! Stick with the manual that comes with the region of the vehicle you are from (different regions can have different specifications). Also, sometimes those videos are done by franchise dealerships (like in the US) and we really have no idea of who or what those dealerships are.

  2. Update Sorry for bumping an old thread just wanted to give a update for this problem. This is caused because the bushes in the steering rack doesn't support the road conditions in SL. The agents can repair it , the take the rack apart and replace 3 bushes on it (two on the edges and one on the steering motor area. They also check the steering angles with some specialized equipment. Once the rack is fitted back to the car they reset the steering position. 6 months warranty is given and they also say the new bushes are suited for SL.The problem can occur on miledges as low as 2000kms. i got the symptoms at 4500kms.

  5. Yes the Kandy traffic is just unbearable now, a poor constricted road network with numerous bottlenecks, zero traffic lights and drained cops waving about! Not to rant about fuel but I just drive Kei cars in the traffic overcoming the low fuel figures partially. Have you used the Mitsubishi OEM fuel system cleaner? I Use it like every 25,000km and it improves the idle and the pull quite a lot, I must say Mitsubishi engines are quite rev happy, I have used 4dr5, 4d56, 4dr6, 4m40, 4m41! They got good grunt in the low end, the turbo makes it better in the mid rpms and higher end. Not just in the SUVs, even in the high end vans (L400 Chamonix Space Gear etc) Most people don't know the kickback function in the super select gearbox, and just baby the pedal and expect it to pull or else just go into sport mode, the owners manual says to bottom out the pedal for the gearbox to kick down and start pulling lol.

  6. 17,346.3 to be precise. It has only 5 digits. I wonder how many times it could have hit 99,999.9 (Or how many times it was reversed) ?

  7. It comes from car's model number. I own 2013 non hybrid axio and its model is said 'NZE 161' Same case in the older generation axio. Aka axio 141

  9. If it looks the same and the same model period (i.e. E140 series 2006-2012)..then its the same car.

  10. CO AND NOx measurements? are You kidding? We are talking about a country where bus and truck drivers mix kerosene 50/50 in order to cheat on the emissions test where mostly Particles Matter are checked(it is the final but 100% working solution invented by garage baas)

  11. When I took the first emission test(when it was unregistered) for my Hiace I went to an emission testing joint which I usually do no go to. I noticed that the fellow who was carrying out the emission test was revving it even after the computer screen showed a message saying to release the accelerator. I guess some places do try fail the vehicle deliberately to earn some side bucks. Those of who are in kandy I can recommended the emission testing place on the Gohagoda Road. It's the first emission testing center on to your left just before that new bridge if you are going from Kandy.

  12. This was the same case for Nissan N 16. Failed it several times and did all sorts to get it fixed. The bloody car does not have an oxygen sensor - thus the fuel mixing is done though a manual unit which does not change as per the ones which has an oxygen sensor. So once I left the engine running for a short while, it passed. This was explained to me by a mechanic who worked for AM@. Mind you when I took the vehicle to AM@ with the issue, their reply was that the car was manufactured in 2007 hence emissions can fail.

  13. Speaking of Emissions tests, looks like a new gazette was issued to introduce JC08 test mode. http://biz.adaderana.lk/වාහන-දුම-ගැන-නීති-අලුත්-වෙ/ If they do it right all test centres will need upgrades like Rollers and new Emissions equipment. Also most of the diesel Trucks and buses wihtou EFI and Exhaust after-treatment will fail..

  14. i dont think grace does 28Kmpl unless you go down hill. 18Kmpl is realistic figure on long runs
