  1. Hey guys! So some of you guys already saw my status and commented. Thank you. For everyone else, this is just a moment of humble brag. And a token of appreciation-to Autolanka ,for not making me a thel higanna. I joined this forum in 2012 (was reading since 2010ish actually) when I only had a rusty mountain bike with no brakes! Over the years I climbed up the ladder slowly with some very memorable cars(mostly “ engris number nemei ne” and “ market na”cars) .Learned lots and finally obtained my dream(always wanted an Audi Crossover) Didn't think of resale, fuel or what not. Just followed my heart! This is actually my second Audi, 1st one was an A4 B5 1800 Petrol non turbo. Had that car for 6 years with most of it parked at home due to no money to pump gas even though it did around 9 (my parents got me the car, I was 19ish and jobless) I got this baby on valentines day 2018 (weird ???). Paid for with my very own hard earned cold hard cash! Sleepless nights ,16 hours of work per day and countless hardships later, shes here! Its a 2018 Audi Q3 2.0T Premium Quattro. 200 HP and 210 Torque! Has all the gizmos you would ever need! Didn’t go for the safety pack as I wanted to drive it, not the opposite! 0 to 60 miles takes 6.3 secs. The stock exhausts makes sounds that can put some sports cars to shame(yes it bangs, pops and chuuz). Im sure you all see in my bio near the comment top that Im not in beloved Sri Lanka at the moment! Wish I could ship her to SL,but no luck because we drive on the other side here! It does 13KMPL on the city with AC and a guy who floors it hard.BEGONE THOTS IN YOUR PREMIOS AND VEZI’s ?. The traffic I drive is twice as much in SL and its hilly. But atleast no hooligan tuks, suicidal bikes and dham rajinas doing nagina on the road (facepalm) This is not showing off. Just an Appreciation to AL and the community for giving me the inspiration to do more(god know I would have bought a vitz if not for AL). But sad to see the newer generation of car buyers, makes me weep hard. Does anybody even care about driving the damn thing anymore? instead of resale and fuel? Nope, they want Sumana's and Hashani's jungi to drop while doing 100kmpl and spend nothing on Maintainance. Some pics for you guys to enjoy! Thank you everybody! @MADZ hats off for the great service boss ?? Respect!

  2. Ok.. so.. thanks everyone for your feedback. I have done some research on my own by speaking with dealers, spare importers, service centers, and repair shops as well as maka baas's... my findings are as follows for anyone who is interested; 1. running maintenance - service costs are almost the same for both (assuming i service the premio at the dealer) but the A3 is actually cheaper because of the longer service interval. 2. spares - spares for the A3 are mostly at the mercy of the dealer, and apparently there can be a 2 week waiting time. But this may change in the future because many people are apparently buying the new A1's, A3's and Q2's. (alot of parts are apparently interchangeable between these 3 models). I also got a quotation for a CV joint for both the premio and the a3 for the heck of it, and the Audi only costs 5k more. which is not bad at all. 3. reliability - A3 has many sensors and the car is not designed for our tropical humid climate so failing sensors is the only problem i have heard reliability wise. Toyota is a Toyota. 4. Was lucky enough to find both the vehicles in question at the same dealer, and i got to inspect/ test drive both. The A3 is a league apart in every way.. (comfort, sound, build quality) finally decided to go with the A3 - because it wont be the first car in my garage, and also i'd rather pay 8.4mil for a 33k USD vehicle than 8.4mil for a 22k USD vehicle ?

  3. Dude... you are buying a 16-year old car. Expect problems irrespective of whether its a 307, 206 or a 121. Its ridiculous to say things like: don't buy a 307, buy a 206 What's more important, is how the actual car has been maintained. If you find a 307 with repairs done on time and is in mechanically sound condition, will you accept @TheFlyingFox's advice and go for a 206?

  4. well I've been driving presea's for 5 years now 1st car also presea, 2nd car also presea and now again looking for a presea as the 4th car.. the GA15DE engine is a rich sweetheart that comes in the presea as well.. there are enough of spare parts to be found (If not i wouldnt go for the presea).. and maintainence cost is also low and just keep 100,000/- as spare money and get all the suspension and minor repairs done after buying the car and it will give you no trouble for the next 2 years... I would recommend you the presea over the fb14 or pulsar, because presea is more spacious, more classy and elegant for a boy.. I have gone to all corners of the country, (hills and offroad) with 5 people in the car and full AC and had no problems at all.. there is a fb group names 'Nissan Presea', join that too, you will get more insights in that group... like i said fuel consumption of that is around col traffic is 7.5, if not 7.. it wont go below 7 though... average driving its 8 and in highway its 11..

  5. Who asked not to buy a 307 and to buy a 206? Since he is a first time “euro” car buyer the logical thing to do is to get something that won’t hurt his pocket or his time. I only “recomended” for him to look at a “well looked after” 206 If you had owned a 307 it is as rediculous to recommend it to someone even if it had been properly maintained. The 307 worldwide is a very unreliable car, recalled for many things. Two many new first time components were put into it. The 206 is a more simpler car which relies on more mechanical components opposed to more electronic components on the 307. EDIT: http://www.carsurvey.org/reviews/peugeot/307/2002/single-page/ http://www.carsurvey.org/reviews/peugeot/206/2001/single-page/ for whoever who wants to get an idea.

  6. Peugeot 307. I will start with the cons this car , there are “more” electrical components instead of mechanical components for functions like the throttle for example. It is a electric motor which drives the power steering fluid instead off a pully on the engine. What this translates is that there is a lot to go wrong in this car. Parts are rare and because of this they have high demand. Some parts will fetch insane prices while some will be reasonable. This also has the same AL4 auto gearbox which has a track record of failing frequently. Power steering oil, auto gearbox oil , very expensive. The blaupunkt CD changer brakes all the time. The good , it is well equipped, for that time things like a trip computer was a big thing. Most models comes with climate control. It is very very comfortable for it’s size. Very stable at high speeds. Decent pickup with the 1.6 engines while the 1.4 engines provide better economy. 5 people can travel in very good comfort. Boot space is generous. Since it is your first euro think about getting a nice 206. They are not as complicated and have much better reliability. This too suffer from the AL4 auto gearbox but if you get a manual you can overcome this. It is also a very comfortable car for its size. It is much More fun to drive than the 307, especially the manual one. Although it’s not fast (in the real world) with the 8 valve engines , one gets a feeling of accelerating very fast , maybe due to the short gearbox. Cons , the rear suspension is a bit complicated. It has a bar like thing which houses all the razors etc. rarely does it go wrong but when it does you have the replace the whole bar which can cost quite a lot. Rear passenger space is cramped. Most cars come with winder windows in the rear. The meter board has a tendency to go wrong and the speed meter has its own magic of working and not working. The 206 is a lovely little car if you can find one from a genuine owner who took proper care of it.

  11. Some of them allow you to clip the number plate into the holder while others let you firmly attach it to the holder using screws. I personally prefer the latter as there is low risk of the number plate falling off (holders are plastic after all), and because the number plate is not something you'd want to regularly put on and take off (unless you do some illegal activity lol). I guess the other variants are due to differences in build quality. Not sure how each of them are compared to one another. The only experience I have are with cheap number plate holders from Darley Road and they were fine.

  15. Both these vehicles I think mostly uses GA15DE engine(Experts correct me if I am wrong). Some say it is not reliable engine....?. Anyway check with a person who is actually using a car with GA15DE engine. Both these cars will be around 6.5 ~ 7.5 kmpl in city. And 9~10 kmpl outstation max in my view.....?. Just check with a Nissan expert....?

  16. Lol Vezel being called a "Jeep", its not even a proper SUV, the comparison itself is absurd! Let alone the term. TBH Most vezel fellows do drive like they are invincible, heavy acceleration, sudden stops, until an old box prado rapes them in a traffic light!

  17. This is subjective right ? People pay 7.5Million for a car with a small engine and they expect it to do it's job (In OPs case) as going from A-B in a "comfortable" "economical" manner . Some people would like to stop at petrol stations less. You don't pay 7.5 Million say one of those performance Subaru cars and expect it to be economical, you expect different things from it. Some people also import convertible cars for the same sort of money and expect completely different things from it. There is nothing wrong with a person paying a lot of money for a vehicle and expecting things THAT person wants from it

  19. Geez! If everybody started writing about how they were inconvened at some garage like this we'd have nothing else to read about. No, I do understand the importance of time and money and would be just as angered. But I'd just go there and raise hell. Not start a new thread about it and waste everyone's time.
