  1. Yeah. as Stig has mentioned; they will fix it for free if its within 6 months. Anyways, did you check your gear oil level and the color of the gear oil?

  4. um... if it's brand new then why don't you call the respective sellers/agents in Sri Lanka and inquire.? I mean you can't honestly expect someone to memorize the prices of all brand new single , double and smart cabs? I mean come on seriously???? Use this forum for opinions, advice's etc and not something that you can find out yourself.

  5. Hi, and welcome to AL. Considering the auto trans and our traffic, driving with the a/c, - not bad. Having said that, could be made better. TT.

  6. I wouldn't call it rare. Honda themselves issued 3 recalls for their early (around 2014) DCT units on the Vezel, Grace and Fit. There's so much discussion online and even here on the forum as well where members have had issues. Given that pretty much all Vezels and Fits in the country are grey imports, they would definitely be affected by this recall and no way to get them fixed. So the issue should be common in the country. However, newer cars seem to be having these issues rectified. So as long as the car is not affected by any of these DCT recalls, you should be OK. So considering the DCT issues as @asrock said is a valid advice. The overheating error message on the other hand is not due to an issue with the transmission, but due to the very hellish driving conditions in Sri Lanka as @matroska correctly mentioned. Unlike many performance cars that have wet clutches, Honda's DCT has dry clutches which has limited capability to dissipate heat. Constant acceleration, braking, cutting others off and being cut off by busses and three wheeler drives causes the transmission to shift back and forth all the time. The (dry) clutches in turn heat up and the error message pops up in the dashboard. I've heard many people suggest driving in L gear in traffic to prevent the transmission from shifting up and thereby reduce clutch operation. While that maybe a workaround, the country's general population just needs to learn to drive properly.

  7. Hold everything ! Since you're not living on the north pole, your car needs help. Your car needs an auto electrician. the rad fan should interdependently turn on to cool the rad with the A/C is off. don't over heat your engine , as you'll have mega head aches,..? Seek help from a Good auto electrician Good luck. TT.

  8. i think OP means that imbalance of aging/internal impedance after replacement of individual cells(brand new cells together with 10year old cells which still have some life left) cause the "repaired" battery to deteriorate faster. Like in a Pentorch, you mix a new AA battery with a not so good one, causing imbalance and power delivery issues. And there is no guarantee that he doesn't have to take the whole thing apart again in 3 months, because one of the "good" cells at the time of repair decided to go bad. In that sense it is more sensible to replace the complete thing, where all cells are newly replaced or similarly aged.

  9. First of all, does your mechanic know the difference between voltage and capacity? And what on earth do you mean by balancing voltage capacity? is it something like keeping two batteries on two sides of a scale and checking whether they balance? Most mechanics in this country are idiots. That's why people come to autolanka to get help. If you think mechanics know everything, then good luck.

  11. The only thing I can say for people like u is - pakis booruwa. Sorry. Will u buy a used battery for your laptop? Then why do u want to buy a used battery for ur car? How do u know its only japan-used and not used in somalia? Even if its only japan used, how do u know its remaining useful life? And is 2013 some magic number where all batteries made after that are in great condition? Like rumesh88 said ealier, replace the damaged cells with brand new cells.
