  1. I've always wondered why the 260 has great ground-clearance compared to other JDM . It's kind of like a car made with SL buyers in mind except it wasnt ? . Just to add to this 'trend' - this is a bit of a new development i've noticed there are bucket-loads of 260s (allion/premio) for sale stagnating for weeks so maybe people are slowly breaking away from the trend. TBH there are dozens of people who advised me to buy a a 260 series ( I know they meant well ) and I actually tested out a few out of curiosity- yes it was sort of comfortable in a very furniture-like way I don't know how to put this but I can't help but think of the "Burutha Almariya" folks get for the dowry or a well cushioned couch. Let me put it this way - If the premio were a woman she'd be a bit overweight, wear no make up, do all the household chores . She'd be a moderate cook and be able to cook rice and curry and nothing else. Your parent's will be happy and your great-aunt will call her a siriyawantha kella. A Kapuwa probably sourced her for you. In bed she'd just lie down and let you have your own way. Your conversations will be just gossip and what happened next door. Convenient marriage but no spark to it. i doubt it ...chances are he probably forgot his username and password ...maybe in a few months time he'll create a new account to ask ' My primeyo do 10 KMPL friend say he premio do 27. What is wrong with car?'

  2. My personal experience with our family vehicles economy in Colombo traffic Wagon R Hybrid (660cc) 52+3 bhp 10 - 11 kmpl Kia Picanto (1.0L) 67 bhp 8 - 9 kmpl Corolla 141(1.6L) 105 bhp 7 -8 kmpl Honda CRV 2013 (2.0L) 150 bhp 6 - 7 kmpl Porsche Macan (2.0L) 252 bhp 6 - 7 kmpl Engine capacity, power, Turbo, Hybrid does not significantly matter in heavy traffic. If you really want to improve economy is to avoid traffic. If you leave home 15 minutes early you could improve economy by 20-25% with a corresponding saving of travel time and driving stress. Stop wining on the vehicle change your time table.

  3. It was. It all depends on what you really expect from the car. For a guy like me upgrading from a Vitz it's good in every aspect as still my fuel bills are same as Vitz with added space and some comfort for a small family . For some reason I do feel it's faster than Vitz 1.3 . It does have pretty good low end torque . It doesn't have a feel what so ever but Vitz was no different to that. So if you come from Lancers/Fits/Civics it's a whole different story. People who need at least a tiny bit of driving fun should look at 1.8 valvematic version or just run away from 260.

  5. I wish this forum would go back to the old days. When hybrids weren't here. Fuel figures were always absurd. Anything below 1300cc was a maruti, real old petrolheads and stories of their broken cars, projects, builds and younger petrolheads (like us - now old) speaking of drags and driving civics to extinction. A world where a Suv always had 4wd. I was just a peer back then. But I learnt a lot.

  9. I think its high time that buyers of such vehicles like Leaf,Xtrail duped by these "mudalaali warranties" get together and file a class-action lawsuit against the responsible individuals(is it the old Japanese "ojichan" for Sterl!ng?).

  10. Today i changed engine oil from 0-20 to 5-30 toyoyota oil.now there are no jerks during low speeds.so it is good to use higher viscosity grade in 3 cylinder cars instead of 0-20 oil. Thanks for your advice

  11. CVT gearbox replacement also free for the grey imports to Sri Lanka by private car-sales people? A*W should be know, IF this Xtrail-hybrid is released for the SL market by Nissan.

  12. They are sister cars and sold through two different sales channels. Underneath they are both the same car. They are kind of the descendants of the Carina and Corona family. The Allion was supposed to be for the youthful buyer and give an overall "experience" in being sporty and also refined and comfortable. The Premio was targeted for the more mature and refined customers who just wanted a bit of comfort. Well...the Allion had different body panels to try look youthful and the Premio kind of took design queues from the Crown to try to look luxurious...but neither car was "sporty" (at least not in stock form). They were reasonably comfortable econo-cars for its time and were pretty well received AT THE TIME. The true luxurious versions were as expensive as cars like the Mark X and Camry so even Toyota didn't promote its sales that much. So what you see mostly are the average econo versions with the bells and whistles.

  13. you might need to install gps movement tracker to each vehicle. uber is free to register and pick me charges 24000LKR Better to go with commission based rental because if you pay a salary to driver they may not try to make more trips. WagonR or Alto would be ideal but Indian alto would be best in terms of repair and maintenance.

  17. If the car is under "Sterling Mudalali" warranty or "Kobe Mudalali" warranty, you might be able to beg and plead them to do a gearbox change. That too, after the box packs up. A*W wouldn't bother about grey-market imports.

  18. sorry to hear that it can come at such low mileage. The solution is to replace the CVT from 1D to 4D type(in part number) which has an improvement, but also not 100%.. https://minkara.carview.co.jp/userid/2723972/car/2305655/4638865/note.aspx 19970km vehicle had same issue,in Japan(Nissan has admitted the design issue and gives free CVT gearbox replacement during warranty period)! https://minkara.carview.co.jp/userid/2723972/blog/41178536/
