  3. Rethink bringing it down...because of the prevailing duty structure (based on engine capacity with no depreciation table, etc..) you will be paying the same amount of import duty as for a brand new vehicle...on top of that you will have to pay for the conversion....you can find a newer car for the same price (or even lesser).

  4. "I really care about the performance, safety, look, reliability, maintenance, and resale value." Those requirements are contradictory. Performance, Safety & looks don't always come coupled with other factors. I had the same amount of cash about a year ago and after so much research I decided throwing 4 mil at a 3 cylinder boring hatchback is waste of money. I finally got a 10 year old 1800 cc Japanese sedan lol. Maybe a failed investment but nothing can beat the satisfaction you get while driving it

  5. That seems reasonable for the size of engine and car....my Mark X does about 6.5ish but other people say tey get 8 and 9...so yeah...people make all kinds of claims...at the end of the day there are factors unique to you that might make it just 5.3 kmpl. the previous owner might ave gotten 5.9 with the same car....so..be happy it does 5.3... At most just keep the tyres properly pressurized and if it was tuned recently then just let it be,,,

  7. RMV stopped assigning the running number series for converted ones after sometime and instead started given 325-. That applies only if the vehicle bearing non english plate number. For english plates, it's a change from P to D. Again this is due to inconsistancies of their actions, initially they gave running series for army auctionned vehicles too. There's a GW- Peugeot 504 that I know of which bought from Air Force auction and the mentioned J44 with english plates. That is again those days forces did not register vehicles with RMV and hence vehicle doesn't bear/allocated a number from RMV and after the auction buyer suppose to register it as a new registration and that's why initially they gave the running series. It was only highlighted when english numbers came into play and pretty old vehicles were running around with english plates. But now forces has to register and obtain/allocate a number which they don't use but will be used only after the auction. Simultaneously they changed the policy that auctionned vehicles which were not initially registered with RMV also given famous 325-. I don't know whether they created 325- initially for converted ones or auctioned (re-register after some time) ones but 325 is given for both for sure.
