  1. Thanks as lot @Davy@trinity@Sampath Gunasekera@Clark'sson@iRage for valuable information, I was able to find the culprit and sort it out. Sorry for bothering you guys so much I was working with thought that fog switch is fine from the beginning, as seller mentioned that this switch has both front and rear fog lamp switches in one package. Now, I checked the continuity between pin 1 & 2 when pressed, nothing happened, but I was "connected" when i checked between 5 & 6 pins. According to service manual, "Pin 1-2 Front, Pin 3-4 lamp in the switch and Pin 5-6 Rear". So It seems I had a rear fog lamp switch. So, I opened it up and swapped the internal mechanism to other side and made it a front fog lamp switch I also noted in C-01 fog lamp switch connector, the ping 5-6 are not present in the harness too (if I need rear fogs lamp, I have to rewire from the beginning). Now I can measure 12V between "A-24 Spare connector for Front Fog Lamp" and GND Only thing remaining is installing fog lamps and connecting the wires Switch internals swap Dash board light Spare fog lamp connector location

  2. If you want driving pleasure go for the Audi....comfort wise...well it is a matter of taste and preference. Being a bit sportier the Audi does have slightly firmer suspension but it is pretty smooth and comfy. The Premio on the other hand is like riding along on a cloud of jelly. Quiet and soft on the bum but the way the car handles and drives is quite lazy. Although the Audi is a bit older than the Premio, the Audi will have more bells and whistles than the Premio. In fact Audis and other Euros had more bells and whistles back then which you get to see in average Japanese cars only just now. As for looks...well personally I find the A4 a lot more meaner and current than the 2014 Premio. So again..a matter of taste. As for resale value....well this being SL you can sell of any load of s*** with a Toyota badge on it. For the Audi...you are looking at a slightly smaller crowd. Irrespective of the brand..any car priced reasonably and taken care of will sell. As for Japanese cars being cheaper maintain....that is a myth. If you use genuine parts and take it to a reputed garage the price difference will be quite small between Japanese and European cars. Granted, for Japanese cars you get plenty of cheap Chinese/Indonesian/Taiwanese parts and every maka baas down the road says they can fix it to better standards than the manufacturer. If you go down that road; then yes it will be cheap to maintain..but then you will have to pay for it in other areas in many other ways. When considering body parts..yes the Audi might cost a bit more because you get plenty of used body parts/fixtures for Japanese cars.

  3. If you have to ask the question...then the Premio it shall be <--- that was sarcasm by the way...but some might find some truth to it. So..uhh...if I may ask... is this your first car ? Are you an experienced are you as a driver ? Are you a petrol head ? How would you rank driving pleasure vs. fuel economy ? If you buy a car at Rs.Xmil do you believe it is your right to sell it at Rs. Xmil + Y ? Do you believe maintaining a Japanese car is cheaper than maintaining a Euro car ? What exactly are you looking for ? What will you do with the car and what is it being used for ?

  4. Part time 4WD is a system similar to the old school Land Rovers, Land Cruisers, Hiluxes, etc.... Vehicles in this category (crossovers) for the most part are AWD/Full-Time 4WD/On-demand 4WD/Real-time 4WD/etc... The X-trail has a multimode AWD system (or a multi-mode 4WD system). You can leave it on AUTO, lock it on 2WD or switch it to AWD/4WD (which acts again in multiple modes....is full-time AWD up to a certain point and becomes on-demand at another point) All the T30 XTrails came with AT in Japan and Asia (and seems to be the case in AUS, UK and continental Africa)...not just between 2000-2003. If there was a CVT T30 in some regions I have yet to see one. In fact even searched the web for a T30 with a CVT and came up with none. So no idea why there are to people saying there are T30 CVTs....it is the T31 that came with the CVT. Personally I would go for the Series II (facelift after 2003) as it got a few engine and suspension upgrades. Like I aid..you are worrying about issues tat will be there even if you bought a different car. Not specific to the XTrail. An old AT transmission is not a death trap or a mystical box....there are people who do a pretty good job at rebuilding AT units (granted most of the new baases would say replace it because it is easier for them and still can charge you an arm and a foot with lesser work).

  5. Well the Honda fit isn't known to be "Rock-solid" IMHO http://autolanka.com/forums/topic/18522-fit-gp1-oil-level-drops/ http://autolanka.com/forums/topic/19223-honda-fit-gp1-engine-oil-burning/ http://autolanka.com/forums/topic/18798-honda-grace-dct-transmission-issue-is-with-only-20142015-model-not-in-2016-is-this-correct/ (GP5 comes with a DCT) When it comes to reliability no hybrid can match 4AT non hybrids like the FD4, Lancer EX, 141, N16 (again, personal opinion!)

  6. The gauge cluster does seem different from CS Lancers I've seen. Maybe they carried out an upgrade on them at some point. I'm aware that the newer (2010+ or so) CS Lancers have a different (more modern) cluster, but I wasn't aware that wiring behind it was also different. If at all this cluster has regular halogen bulbs behind it, you should be able to see them if you take out the black shield behind the cluster. From what I can see, it's secured by a couple of plastic tabs and screws. The front ECU handles all signals coming from the signal light and wiper stalks in the steering column plus the fog light switch. It does have a connection to the car's main ECU to detect speed of the car to determine the interval of intermittent windshield wipers. So I advise you against tapping into it, as incorrectly doing so might have unforeseen consequences. When you push the fog light switch on the dashboard (note that fog lights only work when the ignition switch is ON), do you hear the relay turn on in the fuse box? Keep your finger on each relay and see if you can feel a "tick". If this happens, it means the power switches on and the issue is in the line to the front of the car.

  8. As @iRage mentioned rear fog lamp indicators are for different markets and they may seen on our meter clusters too. Below photos are from a Lancer CS imported from UK & it has rear fog lamps. And below is my fuse box and seems it is almost same with yours. (2007 with factory fitted front fog lamps)

  9. the meter panel would be common to quite a few grades and specs...so it is no surprise that there are "indicators" for the fog lamps whilst the car doesn't have fog lamps... Same goes with the relay/fuse boxes...they are common units...whilst options like Cruise-Control might not have been offered in SL there might have been other markets where it was there....also the relay/fuse box might actually be used in other models as well....

  10. Could fetch a dash board for a very low price for a one of those peeps who convert CS Lancers in to Evos these days.. I see one or two converted Evo popping up for sale every now and then. Actually double din panel is there for this model of dash boards. The only issue is they've come for LHD cars. If the proportions are right i dont see a reason why one could swap a one.

  11. Economical depends on what you expect If you expect 2,2CRDi or at least 1.5VVTi economy you aren't going to be pleased. The normal 2000cc will do 5-7 in town and 7-9 out station depending on how you drive. For faults just keep in mind that you'r buying a 12year old car so faults will be there so save some green at least Rs.100 000 to fix them. Availability of spares is good and the price is reasonable even at the company. As it's you'r daily runner if it is going to exceed 2000km per month it will be wiser to have a diesel Tucson 2007. and if that's you'r budget if you lease 1mill for the difference the fuel saving will pay the lease and in the end you will end up with a newer car which needs less repairs.
