  4. This is true. A lot of 6's have disabled I-stops because of the battery strain. Colonial recommends this because the most common complaint about the mazda6 is battery drain.

  5. T30 started in 2000 as the 1st gen, up to 2003 they fitted with conventional auto box, then they start using CVT. Nissan CVT boxes are common in faults (even if you maintain them with recommended specs) would recommend to stay away from them. lots of plastic so check for cracks or damage, cloth trim pretty cheap quality so check for rips, i have seen few with dislocated seats cushions. chain driven QR20 or QR25 engine, look for chain noise at idle, expensive to replace if it kaput. if you checking the 4WD model X-trail, take time to test them on a loose ground (don't forget to check "lock") As a soft off road car X-Trail is far better than the other model in it's class so you were in the correct choice. Good luck! JC

  7. Great choice mate, I'm sure you'll be very happy with the car. Agents should be able to sort you out for any maintenance as I assume it's the same 1.5 Skyactiv engine and 6 speed box that the 2 has. What is your final landed price going to be?

  8. No this is not normal. Since the condenser is fixed underneath the engine, emitting heat from the condenser does not contribute towards this. looks like the additional payload from the A/C contributes to excessive heating of the engine. can you answer following questions 1. With A/C switched off, how long does it take for temperature gauge to climb up to 50% mark. is it within 5 minutes or half an hour? 2. You said the gauge goes beyond 50% with A/C on. Is it when the vehicle stuck in traffic or when keep moving? 3. What's the mileage of the vehicle and when the engine was last re-built ? 4. Did it have this losing of coolant (and of course heating issue) from the expansion tank (Bottle as we call it) even prior to upgrading of A/C i tend to suspect a blocked thermostat but will wait for your responses. P.S- Also check the direction of the air flow of the condenser fans whether it blows air out or sucks air in.

  9. Good choice to get the hatch- its a refreshing change to all the sedans on the road. You won't regret it. Mazda3/Axela is a wonderful car. Somehow it manages to feel and drive better than it's sum of parts - take care of it and it won't let you down

  10. Congrats @Mbw! At the end of the day a known, well maintained car is a lot better than a car that is seemingly good and maintained. No one can hold that against you (I would support you with that even if you promised to buy my car and then changed your mind). On top of that you made the most practical and logical choice. The Vitz is not bad car (90% of the problem with Toyotas in SL are the owners not the cars themselves)....it has always have had a nimble body....only let down has been the suspension and the light steering. If you can find the funds...do a few things like fixing/upgrading strut bars and even try to get a slightly larger footprint. The 1000cc engine is a bit under powered for spirited highway driving, etc...but lets face it..you are going to be sitting in traffic for 75% of your life.

  12. As promised, here are some things I got my attention my brand spanking new 2018 Civic SR. Fuse box location. it's right under the dash, I found the only way to access it properly was to sit up side down on the divers seat. No HID unless you go for Tech pack which will give you LED. The best option was to get put some LED lights in the low and the high beams, and it worked like the charm, even the auto high beam played ball with it. Lack of Spare tire The car is like Frankenstein's Monster (Lights from Hungary,Seat Belts from Rumania). This is not something that's putting me off the car. I thought I'd mention it. Accessibility for light bulb changes. Other than the head lights, others will require some mechanical knowledge and some lights (i.e. the number plate light I think) come as one unit. Missing sections of the harness. For missing options, unlike in other cars they have saved the harness for unused options, ergo you can't get away by just adding the auto dimming mirror, you have to wire the harness from the fuse box. Garmin navigation hardcoded for Europe. Can’t see the Turbo performance in SR Second row head room is rather limited if you are above 5'10" Reduced visibility/darker cabin due to smaller windows at the back Fabric trim in the center console and the door cars are like magnets for sweat and dirt Again, these are things I noticed, doesn't mean I don't like the car, will share the things I found to be nice as well. Just thought I share it so people will see a well balanced picture.

  13. I'm getting 10+ kmpl during rush hour. This is with the Eco mode on 50% of the time and the engine auto stop on. i still see it improving as I'm still on second tank of gas. Haven't done outstation trips etc, running under 80kmph and 4000 rpm waiting for the engine to break in ( another 500kms to go). -Edit- I'm compiling a list of things I like and don't like about this car, for now it's a mixed bag. Will share it soon.

  14. I'm getting around 12kmpl (shows up as 8 liters for 100 km in the dash) in average daily drive in Colombo with moderate to somewhat heavy traffic. Recently I was on the highway from Athurugiriya to Kadawatha and it did around 19kmpl in that trip. Driving experience in this car is awesome and it hugs the road like nothing. Handling is superb and it's a pleasure to drive. The engine and the turbo seems to work together well and it packs quite a punch. It feels way more than a 1 liter engine.
