  1. Just a point to note guys. The general timing belt change interval specified by manufacturers is 100,000km or 5 years. Not 100,000km alone. If you have used the car for 13 years without changing the timing belt, its way overdue.

  2. EX all the way if you find a good specimen. Tiida's not half bad either - had one in the family very spacious and a good vehicle for daily use but overall the EX has the undeniable wow-factor

  3. Never driven, both. Been a passenger in Tiida. Spacious, but NOT COMFORTABLE. Fuel economy wise both would be equal. On the performance side also. Lancer would be the better buy, but maintenance could be a problem. Please use the search option for more details about Lancer EX, which has been extensively discussed before.

  4. normally you cant just replace a throttle with another used one. After replacing you have to conduct a Throttle learning procedure where the ECU calibrates its values to the new Throttle. The procedure varies from Vehicle to vehicle.

  5. Change your mechanic. Go to a garage that can perform an emissions test and diagnosis to identify what is causing the issue. High CO in exhaust gas attributes to a rich air-fuel mixture and could be caused from a clogged air filter to a faulty Oxygen sensor. A diagnostic scan will reveal what is causing this. Also, TPS is Throttle Position Sensor. Change your mechanic.
