  1. Just now I contact UM and my LANCER is under recall list. However, manufacturing year of the car is 2008. Thanks for sharing the information Hashan..

  2. lol! Well that's a good enough reason! Apparently the Italian mob in NY buys the Cadillac DeVille / Cadillac DTS for the same reason

  3. Between Amaron and Exide, I will ALWAYS choose Exide. I have enough experience with both brands. My car (Ford Focus) has an unusual size battery. Only Amaron has that size in Sri Lanka. So I am stuck with Amaron. I have had enough bad experiences with Amaron batteries. The car was bought brand new in 2011 and the manufacturer's battery was replaced in 2012 due to a manufacturing fault. Since 2012 to 2016, I am on my third battery now (guess.the brand?). 1. One battery cracked from the housing without any reason and the acid leaked from the side. to the engine compartment. I got the battery replaced through warranty. But the acid that leaked burned some of the paint and some of the wires. Luckily, I have a habit of inspecting the engine bay closely once in a while. This could have caused the car to catch fire. 2. The second battery (replaced in 2013 Feb I think) died in 2016 May. Amaron claims they have a 5-year warranty on batteries. But that's a BIG SCAM. The warranty is just 2-years. After 2 years, what you get is a discount when you buy the next battery (something like 30% off the retail price of the next battery). They call that warranty! When you walk in to a battery shop to buy a new battery, you get the same discount. So their so-called 'warranty' is not a warranty, not even a discount! and the bloody amaron battery for my car costs Rs. 18,000! I have always used Exide batteries with my other cars in the past and I had an issue only once where a brand new Exide battery died after about 3 weeks of purchase. I called up battmobile, got it tested and replaced within the hour. So I will not hesitate to recommend Exide over Amaron anytime.

  5. Will be very difficult to find a good specimen below 2.4m mark. Do note that these have cvt gearboxes, there were quite a few examples of failing gearboxes discussed recently . Also cvt needs more frequent maintainance so if this is your first car I would recommend you not to buy it.

  7. yeah it should be the saloon model, Brava. Brava and Marea is 4 door, Bravo is 2 door @dushyantha was the other Bravo owner, it was him i stated above There are parts, parts match with Alfa 145 and many other Alfa models, mine has Alfa lower arms, Alfa clutch master pump, exact match . So as you can see, many Euros share the same or likewise parts which can be easily fitted with a small modification. so it shouldn't be a problem finding parts. Clutch plates should match with other models, yeah plenty of parts in UK. Agree with locally done repairs, but make sure its in a good place. Parts are with the mechanics itself, if you have free time, try with Milano, Janatha motors @ panchiwattha, Euro spare parts, also Wheels Auto Spa peliyagoda. Wheels Auto Spa normally have spares with them, although they also do repairs of Euro's. Also give a call and try with ITMC @ Rajagiriya, Next Gear @ Udahamulla

  8. i had a fiat bravo but sadly . not anymore . the 300- or 301- you're talking about must have been a saloon model ryt ? spares for them ? u could get someone in panchikawatta to bring down parts for you . or personally import them. if you have someone with a fair bit of car knowledge in italy or UK then there are loads of wreckers where parts can be sourced . I do no know how different the petrol variant is from the diesel but 5-6 years back there were no cv joints lower arms shocks rackends , clutch plates and stuff for a fiat bravo in srilanka . ball joints can be repaired and used again for some time . same goes for shockabsorbers

  10. Yes. I've watched a lot of Australian crime documentaries and according to them you can easily rent and transport a dead body in a Ute to a dump site perhaps. Less suspicious. In would prefer Mitsubishi pickup trucks and I think they are little bit cheaper than Toyotas.

  11. Yhea bn . sold it and bought the lancer YOM 2008 . It comes with a OBD port which its not EOBD but is JOBD which the cheap ebay scanners do not support . I think it has something to do with the protocol used by the obd software . tested on a 2003 mitsubishi and a 2008 mitsubishi . both had the same outcome where the software says that the Protocol could not be detected .
