  1. Your power steering is not electronic and is a basic hydraulic system to my knowledge. I have not heard of a 10th gen Lancer variant that comes with EPS. So even a mechanic with the basic competence should be able to carry out a steering overhaul without any problem. Obviously, re-machining (if not done properly) will result in various side effects. What you should have done is replace the rack ends, tie rod ends and bushes (at least with a good set of aftermarket replacements if you cannot afford genuine parts). Having said that, it is also possible that the machining job was done properly, but your mechanic over-tightened the linkages (especially the tie rod end bolt). If the power steering belt was removed during the repair for some reason, make sure that the belt has the proper tension. A slipping belt will cause the power steering pump to pump insufficient oil to provide you with power assistance. Hence the tightness in the wheel. You need a "good" mechanic, not a EPS mechanic.

  5. Hi Magnum, Actually this is perfect. But people in SL takes car is "posh" than a buddy van or batta van. No matter the options you have or the power, Turbos etc... Batta van is still a batta van for sri lankans. People here in SL usually don't buy vehicles for the purpose. They do it as a trend, sadly.

  6. //Its not that milk lady Vitz by any chance is it? // That I don't know for sure since I got it on open papers from a guy around Nugegoda. Well, about open papers dilelama.... and my story goes as follows.. Writing here so it'll help other new people seeking information So first I came across this car in a popular classified site. Called the guy and went there with a mechanic as I don’t know much about the cars (this is my first car). While the mechanic asked about the CR book, the guy told us that he is keeping it in open book. Mechanic checked the car and told me; car is taken good care of. Since this guy is doing car sales from home, he asked me to bargain on the price. I couldn’t bring the price down much. Only 20K after talking hours and hours Later when I went to leasing companies & banks, the hell broke down. Combank – They don’t want to lease a vehicle, which is made before 2010 CDB / LOLC – Interest rate is very high HNB – The manager asked me whether I could afford the rental etc. He was talking all the time as if he is the only rich man in the country, others can’t afford a shit He even asked me to go for joined leasing with my wife. In addition to this drama, the banks were not happy with providing leasing for a car on open papers. Also they insisted that we do the double transfer on the same day (which I’ll have to incur extra 10,000 LKR). Finally the guy who had the car told me, he has a card of an NDB guy. So called him and told him the story and he agreed to set up the leasing. Interestingly he gave me the lowest rate compared to other banks and leasing companies. I was asked to bring some documents, which proves stuffs like the company I work for, salary, bankbook photocopy, salary slip etc. Also I got my wife and father in law to sign as guarantors. Finally within 3 days leasing was passed, I signed the documents and got the car from the guy. Even if you have your car on open papers, you can transfer them to your name without any problem. But the guy who is keeping the car on open papers will also listed in the CR book as past owner. Disadvantage is that number of previous owners will go up. This is bad for a typical Sri Lankan mindset. But I don’t give a damn as long as car is doing fine. My first service is due next Saturday. I hope I wouldn’t run into any mechanical trouble with the car.

  7. When talking about that FB page, they should also post more pics of pedestrians and bikers violations of road rules. Today I almost got knocked out from behind by a biker who was riding along the pedestrian side walk, while the traffic was halted due to traffic lights.

  8. So as per these changes, how are the spare prices going to be? And can the spares be found easily? Both engine and exterior? Especialy the front buffer etc. ?

  9. oh didnt really know about those changes, thanks for pointing out guys!

  10. Not exactly so....the pre-facelift apparently was rated at 87HP(1.3L) and 105(1.5L). The facelift on the other hand is rated at 90HP (1.3L) and 109HP (1.5L). Apart from that the 1.5L had been rated as ultra-low emission and 1.3L as good-low emission vehicles by the Japanese authorities. So they did something with the engines. Apart from that I think the other changes were safety related. Not sure of much but I am pretty sure that the headrests were upgraded to Active Head Restrained ones. Apart from that I think they took off some engine options and restricted certain grades to certain engine variants.

  11. Facelifted FB15 engines (QG15DE) came with electronic EGR valves. That's the only thing I know about differences.

  12. AFAIK, there is nothing much special about the 2002-2004 face lift, its just a face lift, the exterior is slightly diferent front and rear. Apart from that the interior is exactly the same, engine, gearbox mechanics all the same. and the other diference is the absured price tag.

  13. Can you elaborate the reasons for your statement? Or tell us what are the options that are available in the 2003 edition, which are not available in the normal FB15? As crosswind stated, unless you owned it before how can you say this car is in fabulous condition by looking at just one picture? And just because the number series is "K" do you call it fabulous?

  14. Were you the guy who sold this car?

  15. This is a sweet deal. 2003 FB15 for 2.2Mn is just the right price. Given the fabulous condition & KX-XXX number plate this seems like a bargain. Congratz on your purchase!

  16. LOL....no..the IMPUL Sylphy is still not there in Japan but saw some articles about it probably being introduced. There are some third party kits for it though. As for the previous one...well beauty is in the eye of the beholder I guess. I didn't like the previous one because it reminded me of a turtle

  17. The Odyssey is one of those things that looks better in photos and/or from a distance than in real life and/or close-up. When looking at it upclose u simply dont see how the lines and angles flow so it just looks like stacked plastic boxes. ...and the rear, I like to call it the 'Stormtrooper face butt'

  18. Crosswind is correct with his reply above. Also, the CS2 is not the JDM model. Most of the pre-facelift CS2s in the country are JDM, but there are a few export model examples as well. The most commonly seen JDM CS2 is the Lancer Cedia (Cedia meaning CEntury DIAmond - "Century" because it was the model done on the company's 100th anniversary. "Diamond" because that's what the Mitsubishi logo is composed of). Most of the Cedias came with a 1.5L GDI engine whereas the export model CS2 came with a 1.5 EFI engine (both 4G15). The CS1, 2 and 3 are not the only CS Lancers that were in the series. The CS ranges from CS1 (4G13 - 1.3L) to CS9 (4G63T - 2.0L Mivec Turbo). The only CS I've seen locally apart from the common 1, 2 and 3 is the CS5. It badged "Touring" and has a 1.8L engine (4G93) - one was on sale on the classifieds a couple of years back.

  19. Hi Guys, Thanks for your time and reply. Finally I managed to fix the issue. I suspect the problem was due to recently I have upgraded my car with Multi-Function Steering Wheel (which wasn't there earlier) so I called the same guy and informed. As a result he asked me to come there, also I have remembered the guy who did the work replaced the Spiral and put another one (I am not sure why he has replaced that). So, this time he has put another one (I have paid additional amount) which is better than the earlier one and now the problem is fixed. Thanks
