  1. I finally bought a car. A 2007 JDM Camry. Cost me 3.8 mil though. It's well worth it. Way better than an Allion or Premio. Thanks for everyone's help.

  2. Fuel Shark doesn't work at all!.. However Fuel Gerandiya works perfectly.Simply plug one end of the device to your Prius's battery and the other end to the owner's arse then fart on it.The force caused by the farts revolves a turbine and charges the battery. For better results the manufacturers recommend a diet consisting of ripe Wattakka and Pork.

  3. Well I never had even a slightest urge to spend my hard earned money on something of this nature and hence no past experience with the gadget. But if you come to think of it, they say the unit cleans the electrical environment of the car. If this is to be done at all then the unit should be connected to the source that generate the electrical noise not to a connector which is electrically far away from all possible noise generators. If someone gives me a unit to connect to my alternator or to battery or even near the fuse box that could have made some sense. But this is just another "snake oil".

  5. Hi Guys, I'm facing kind of a quandy here. So I'm coming to the experts. I'm going to buy a new car and have the following options. Brand New Geely Emgrand EC7, imported by Micro. 3.2 Mil LKR. Made for the european market, has a 4 star safety rating, so not really "chinese crap". 3 years warranty in Sri Lanka, 5 years in other countries, so probably reliable. Looks good. Micro however doesn't really has a good customer service record. A 2004 BMW E60 520i Milage around 50,000 KM, About 4 Mil LKR. Well it's a BMW. Always wanted to own one. It's a 2004 model though. 5 series has more electronics. Good rep. But I don't want to end up having to do a very expensive repair every two months or something. Toyota Allion or a Premio probably around 2010 or a nearby year. About 4 Mil LKR. Good market, after sale value. Cheap repairs. I'm not really concerned about fuel economy. I'm just looking for a car I won't have to repair every few months. What do you guys think I should buy? Thanks.

  7. A lot of people doing a stupid thing does not stop it from being stupid. Fifth Gear did a test on several of these fuel savers, including some expensive gadgets that would convince most people. Youtube the video and you can see that what you've stumbled upon is actually much lower in the pecking order compared to some of these gadgets. They all did absolutely nothing in case you're wondering.

  10. Amen to that - what Sri Lanka needs is an attitude change. For some reason we have been fed the subject/slave/vasal mentality for ages so that a large number of people think of political leaders as royals that deserve to be worshiped not just bloody ordinary people whose job is to address our issues - IMHO the country happily embraced the 'wadawasam' mentality during the last regime where there was a lot of appacchi/rajathuma sentiment. To be honest I'm embarrassed that in my country an airport, an airline, a stadium was named after the president who was still in power (reminds me of Tintin comics where general alcazar names the capital after himself) and a road gets named after a girl who sang a song of praise, that like centuries ago when a minister comes people have to make way, bow before them, roads have to be closed, that like in typical Game-of-thrones/ Mediveal fashion political goons can rape and plunder as they see fit. you can make airports roads and whatnot but the country will not progress as long as the majority live like stone age peasants cringing and bowing before their leaders licking boots and thinking that building a road was development.

  11. I drove next to a dark green Primera with black alloys bearing 300 or 301 plates today morning (Monday the 29th June). The car merged to the main traffic from the Kotte Road next to the Burger King in Athul Kotte. The car was in lovely nick. Probably the best Primera from that era I've come to see. If the owner is on AL, hat tip to you sir. It was indeed a lovely sight to the sore eyes and weary nerves while driving among the idiots in the tuk tuks and the Leylands.

  12. Go for it. Don't waste a minute pondering!! Best bang for your bucks. The SR20 is indeed the best in the business for the displacement. Like Devinda said, Nissans are only for those who appreciate good affordable motoring. Not the Petrol Sniffers. and no, the SR does not have any issues electronic or otherwise. Its a chain driven DOHC 16V. Its a basic engine that happens to belt out about 140-150Bhp as it is. Just maintain it properly and no gimmicks with oils. Both A*W and PitStop recommends the normal local engine oil with 4000km intervals. Most P11s came with SR20 but some came with the QG. So watch out for that. Camino is the top end of P11s and comes with all the gizmos, CVT, sunroof, Climate Control, ect ect. But try to find a manual, loads more fun. They handle like rockets on rails. Easy to maintain, no surprise repairs and looks good. Parts are available freely and not that expensive. However the front multi link suspension needs to be done properly as if one part fails the rest fails too. So you have to keep a regular eye on them. Each service i would go under the hoist and check each boot and each bush. The replacements I did in 2007 still held good till I sold her. Go for a Brand New P11 manual models as they came with suspension hardened for local conditions. The meter will have 220 on it instead of the 180 and its not restricted. Have done 200 on the 100 foot road without even breaking a sweat. Only draw back will be no ABS and no airbags for the BN import models. Mine was a Agent sold car. But the rest of it all is all good. Unfortunately I sold mine a week ago for 12.5. The guy who bought it knew his stuff about the P11 and did not even negotiate. If only you asked this last week!! I would have thrown in the K&N filter and the 17 inch alloys as well. Instead of it now lying under my bed. Gave the car as it was before I fixed my toys. One final note. I have a E36 323i as well and compared to the way she handles, and the way the P11 handles, I'd say I felt more confident throwing the P11 around as for some strange reason, the P11 feels more sure footed. I do miss the P11, though. One final note, Ek3 Vs P11.... Apples and Oranges. I had a Ek3 Vti for a brief period as a company car and ........ compared to the P11... ha ha ha ha ha. the p11 is streets ahead machang. Hondas are like the cheap whore you lose your virginity to on a night out with the boys. P11 is the girlfriend who shows you the whole kama sutra!
