  1. If you did search, you would have sound many othe rmercedes related threads. Why didnt you post on one of those. You're merely adding onto the problem of redundant threads that's being a problem for you too.

  2. You don't need to spend 52,000 for a fuel pump You can get one from ebay, such as this one: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Brand-New-OEM-Replacement-Fuel-Pump-Install-Kit-for-Mazda-Vehicles-/291208552808?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&fits=Make%3AMazda|Model%3A2&hash=item43cd61e168&vxp=mtr You can find one in Panchikawatta/Japan Lanka or you can even try Ford Fiesta fuel pumps. Usually fuel pumps are common between many models (Mazda Demio, 3, 2, 6, Axela, Ford Fiesta, Focus etc.) so you don't need the exact replacement from the agent. In fact, I remember I got a Toyota fuel pump mated with a Nissan March sometime back so don't worry.

  3. Do you meant to say that it is wrong to compute and compare the fuel efficiency or something else. I thought keeping records and observing the figures has helped me to find out the discrepancy, which I should share with others also. As it may help people to avoid such places. Sorry if I have misused the forum.

  4. I think I should share my experience here. I use an android mobile application called "My Cars" and used to record the fuel and other bills on it. Fuel bills are updated together with the odometer reading, so that the app will give me the calculated fuel efficiency. My car also has a display together with trip meter indicating the kmpl on the perticuler trip. I always used to pump Euro3; full tank when my car's fuel indicator is at 2 and as a discipline I used to get down the car and make sure it is topped up full. Every time i pump fuel (full tank always) i reset the trip meter in my car so that I can see the kmpl on display. the computed fuel efficiency will be around 0.5 - 1 kmpl more than what is indicated in the car display. Recently (on 19/10/14) I pumped fuel at the IOC station in the Warakapola town, once I updated my app, it showed the computed efficiency about 1kmpl less than what is indicated. Since I have got an engine tune up also done a week back I thought it may be due to that. next time (03/11/14) I pumped fuel at a different place, as usual computed kmpl was higher than what was indicated on the display.. on 9/11/14 I again visited the Warakapola IOC on my way to Colombo. Upon computing the fuel cost this time, I found the computed eff is less than the kmpl indicated in the display, this time it is 10% less than what was indicated on the display. I think there has to be some issue with the fuel pump, either tempered or malfunctioning. I'm thinking of going to that place again to check it out. keep you posted if I get to re-verify the above finding.

  5. Voice navigation for Google maps (android) was enabled in SL about 2 months ago. I've found it to be excellent. Found it useful and highly accurate during a trip covering the east and in finding my way around Hingurakgoda. For Windows Phone there is a free app called GPS Voice navigation which is based on google maps that is also quite good.

  6. Since you are eager to know let me tell you about myself. I'm a 20-year old student with no income at all and I'm living off my parents money. So I don't have the luxury to "throw" money at the things I want. I will have to be satisfied with whatever my father buys me and mind you he's NOT the president of Sri Lanka. What I need a turbo is purely for the thrill of it. To go fast that's it. I don't participate in the drags and I don't street race on Saturday nights but I would love to do both of those things. I don't see how my mindset is much different from others in this forum. Maybe you are a not a brat like me but a true driver. But I don't see your "mighty" Subaru Forester taking part in the drags as well. Isn't it "turbocharged". Or haven't you spent "serious money" on it?. All I need performance is for the pure thrill of it. Hope this answered all of your questions. You could be helpful and share your knowledge or be a judgemental prick. Whatever helps you to sleep easier at night

  9. @fiat fan Please do not buy it and do not get deceived by the look of it. As everyone else suggests, it is advisable to go for an old Japanese car rather than buying this piece of junk. I had one micro vehicle and had a very painful experience with it. Their after sales service is also awful.

  10. What? Me? Datsun? 510?...No!...I'm sort of regarded as the Anti-christ in the 510 community. You must have me confused with Dr.Naka Dee Pusi. That second paragraph is allover the place. I can't even begin to comprehend that rubbish. Let me guess. You want a turbo just to hear the 'brmmmm-tssss' sound and to show off to your friends neda?...c'mon be honest...

  12. I too have seen a few around on roads already, looks nice for a small Chinese hatch Like it much more than any Indian offerings at that price segment. I bet this is much better than a crappy Maruti 800 or maybe even the Alto, hopefully it'd lead to the downfall of the 80s tech and styling and kick 800s a**

  15. the N16 is a very unspaceious car and the supersaloon does really bad on fuel too. i will suggest a Honda Civic EK3 for your price or the FB15, it is better on fuel than the N16 good luck :-)

  16. how about mazda bj5p or an ek3,N16 feels like driving a lorry..

  17. For that price bracket i would go for a Honda EK3, or a Carina/Corona Premio if you want something newer a Mazda 323 familia BJ5P. From your list i would go for the swift, the car is quite spacious for a small car, easy to drive and all the only common probllem i know is that the shocks go out quicker than the others N16 is just crap. Its not really efficient and it is really crampy inside you get sick of the lack of space in long journeys. oh and "New is not always better"

  18. You don't really need to turbocharge a car for it to go faster.Sometimes a properly sorted NA with a few mods is faster than an equvalent turbo car...All that godawful lag put me off turbos for good.I'd take a high revving, variable valved NA any day. For carbed cars,I've heard Supercharging is better than Turbocharging.Don't ask me why though cos I don't know...I'm waiting for my Weber + Supercharger kit to arrive for a 2 litre twin carb. It's a bolt on one for that particular car.But custom making one in SL one can be messy and expensive.Better go for an EFI car as others said. And just to echo what VVti said.Real petrolheads don't race on the streets. The posers who do have lost family members and are facing jail time plus a life time of regret. ...If you really wanna show off your skills come on a track day with us or join a club or contact AndrewGTR and enter the official drags.

  22. This is what happens when people rely too much on technology and too little on plain old-fashioned common sense. Their brain cells get fried and they try to fry others' brain cells as well.
