  1. Fuel consumption is 14 kmpl for the nickel handle model and 6 kmpl for the non-nickel handle version. Always go for the nickel handle version because it has a better fuel consumption and good second hand market. Spare parts can be found in delkanda. I just sold mine for 30 mil

  2. cant say fb14 is bullet proof but our family car is one old steady and reliable girl since 95 and still is and the old girl just keeps going..my father is so engrossed with it that he wouldnt even think for a split second on replacing. true we had replaced most running parts any car that has been running for the last 19 years would need to do so. i also suppose it boils down to who has been using it previously since we got it back in 95 its been with the family and taken care of it as part of the family. My dad used it from inception and to date, i used it for my weekend and late night runs until i got one of my own so did my brother after me and now its used between my younger brother and my dad.

  3. 1. It is exhaust gas recirculation unit, EGR 2.Usually car should smoke when it is CLOSED not it is working, because it get the exhaust gases burnt, I THINK it is kinda environment saving gadget and might enhance fuel economy 3.Most probably your car is smoking due to some other cause, most mech ("maka bass") do not do proper overhaul, for my 2c it took us (me and my bro) hell a full 1 week for the head rebuilt only, bloody valve adjustment is one of the most crucial part but most mech do is just clean and reassemble! They even wont change the air filter (Must need a original one). It should only smoke very little (Could not even detect unless under direct sunlight) ONLY at very hight rev. Mech keep the pump maximum advance for "better start" ("You touch the key it starts", so most of our ppl think engine is pretty good now!!!) but normal 2C not like that it needs little crank, pump MUST be in standed position. When the pump is standed position it need lil crank to start but it pulls like nothing not a bit of smoke. Coming to your problem, I guess it is due to pump position and/or valve adjustment (Intake 0.2-0.3mm; Exaust 0.25-0.35mm) just check. The most difficult part is finding a good mech. (That is why we did DIY for our engine)

  4. Just a small update. A large number of Grande Puntos were bought by rich people as their second/third vehicles, simply due to its appearance and high-end options (compared to other cars of that time). Most of those are of low mileage even now (less than 50k km). So do keep looking for one and u will find one in great condition. There's a specialist doc who lives on the road next to mine. He's got a diesel GP (which was advertised on AL few months ago). He asked for 26. I guess whoever checked that car was asking for very low prices, so he decided not to sell it. Considering the way it has been maintained and the fact that it looks like it just rolled out of the production line, 26 is a very reasonable price for it.

  5. I don't mean to bum everyone out with socialism theories, but honestly right now in our countryt herich keep getting richer and the poor keep getting poorer and the middled class is trying very hard to not fall into the 'poor'. A photographer friend was saying that some of these high-society kids even celebrate birthdays at the taj and hilton and what not.. So "50,000 for a toy? Sure son, but that means no partying allowance for this week for you!" said a father to a son.

  6. Gulp I just realized that I had not updated this for a while. Went there today after a two month break. Good news and bad news. The good news is that there's some visible progress. Bad news is that he's screwed up the rear fender and wheel arch. The arches are very square and flat at the rear. The previous artist had rounded and flared them. https://docs.google.com/document/d/1an93kN2MRLtyAgERGflYRcGoInuF1g6uzsJ_IWbQKbA/edit?usp=sharing https://docs.google.com/document/d/1sDu2jNoi18tIoKNVdEtMEyPt33aOU8MR-CgcjrKxxmE/edit?usp=sharing Another complex shape being turned out. https://docs.google.com/document/d/1IdWN4WxP2N3-AAhtWgWSyksnrQX7c13wUbkXOXGmQb8/edit?usp=sharing How not to do it. Three layers of steel welded together and covered with filler. Now rusted. https://docs.google.com/document/d/1bWtenBCyKFVrx2UkgW9eJQfR1nUPZRwsk64_j11aFiA/edit?usp=sharing Neat job at the top of the rear fenders. https://docs.google.com/document/d/1G2vdpprXqQl4yTsUfHdMg20V4Fv8oQVCX4W4Uhwt264/edit?usp=sharing https://docs.google.com/document/d/1vC8GF8KOjjlF0YPPSWxUOwQ2arcFlAj-Ky2UUwjJURg/edit?usp=sharing

  11. Ha haa.. Looks like i'm not the only one. Here comes my list of repairs done on my FB14. Complete overhaul in suspension (Shocks, Arms, CV Joints etc.) Repaired two oil leaks in two different occasions in the engine oil sump Replaced Alternater Replaced Distributor Repaired the auto gearbox as it failed to shift to the second gear. Replaced the A/C console as it failed functioning (My one had a touch panel) Major repairs in the braking system. replaced brake disks due to thinning, had some brake binding issues as well. Replaced ignition plug wires Complete overhaul in the exhaust system due to excessive corrosion. Replaced engine mounts.phew.. and the list goes on.. and at the time i was selling there was a auto gear oil leak from the sump. the damn engine kept on vibrating at start up, cooling system was falling apart and the ECU was kaput !! All of this happened during 2005-2009. so, just imagine the number of issues current owners of these cars might be having.

  12. I don't think the average SL p***y bearer knows the differance between a Range Rover and a Sorrento. They are all "Jeeps'' to them.A Hummer though would convince even the blondest of bimbos that it's something special just by the way it looks.

  13. Thanks, and yes, this has all the gizmos thrown in... But then they all do. This was on the road 38.50. Yes... what you see is correct. I went with a full tank and pumped 12 liters back to fill up... have done a total of 267Kms. But then I took it easy, never above 70-80.
