  1. Ha.. Cali See that you have been the Bull (Gona) in a Chinese shop. Or rather a pimp in a brothel filled with grannies. Listen dumbass..i almost feel like kicking my self rather than replying to this post, where it is like telling a tranny that they cannot reproduce. So, just scoot with your lame ass articles and panditha talks and do something worthwhile like picking dog poo in a park , that might be more meaningful for you. ..shoo shoo go away

  2. When we say off roading lets be specific.... A basic 2WD SUV could easily manage most of Yala and even on a 4WD you will not need to engage it 95% of the time. This 4x4 madness in Colombo is just for most people to be seen in a big ass vehicle, which towers over the rest of the ordinary jonnies in cars. Honestly, I dont think any of those Prados , Monteros or Discovery's have ever been on a off road track.... so what is exactly the point.. ?

  4. Jimny is a 2-door 4 seater with limited space and small luggage space. It's got the same engine as Suzuki Swift and it has 4WD. The vehicle itself is not common and spares are not easy to come by. Terios on the other hand, is a 4-door car and its more spacious. Hence, it is more common. Sooner or later, the suspension of Jimny will go bonkers and you will have to shell out about 30-40k for repairs. You can get a Terios, Cami, old Vitara, Maruti Gypsy, Pajero Mini, Zotye Nomad 1.3 for that price range. If you want to look cool in a vehicle that pretends to be a JEEP, please don't ask about fuel economy. None of these will do more than 8 to the litre. If I were you, I will try to get a Perodua Kembara. It's same as Terios except for the front grille. But its made in Malaysia. I would use that as a bargaining point to grab one for about 1.5-1.6 million.

  6. Look at these parameters, 1. emission regulations were introduced and I'm sure will increase the thresholds. 2. Then unleaded fuel, not so in favor of carb engines. 3. Last but not least, mechanics who can properly do up a carb are becoming a rare breed. As oppose to mushrooming EFI tune up joints. (clean injectors, throttle body and idle up valve along with a OBD scanner hooked up error clearing would give any EFI system a re-birth, worse it can happen is replacing the ECU or injectors. Now that isnnot so easy with a carb where as inside you have to properly keep the nozzles and jets and what not. Still you have to do lot of trial and error cycles to properly tune a carb. Heard few stories of how difficult to go through the emission test for carb engines where as EFI 's would take you trough it eyes closed. Conclusion, if it's the same car, go for the EFI one.

  9. They go at the same rates more or less. Prices might have gone up over the last month for all you know. There is the Perodua Kembara which is the same thing produced in Malaysia. That might be cheaper....but there aren't that many around. Are you looking for the new model or the older model?

  10. Ummmm......it's not me that's been going on and on about the lack of hybrid knowledge, know-how and facilities in the outstation. A certain cleaner of manure and a few others are the ones who've been going on and on about that. I look forward to when the average mechanic and garage in SL knows hybrids inside and out. The problem is that, because the Prius is so damn reliable and breakdowns are so rare, the mechanics of SL won't be getting much 'practice time' or 'practice opportunities' anytime soon to work on improperly-working Prii and learn the ins and outs of the hybrid system.

  11. These test results just came out today. Thanks for posting this, VVTi. You're reporting and posting FACTS (unlike some other people's posts) which is always a good thing and something that is sorely missing from AutoLanka. Yes, the Prius V and Camry got rated as poor in the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety's brand new Small Overlap Crash Test. When they test the Prius, Aqua, and other Toyotas, those cars will probably get a poor rating also since Toyota has not designed their cars with this crash test in mind. Honda did, and got a rating of 'Good' for the Accord.

  12. Warlord, you really need to learn to (1) read properly, (2) comprehend what you're reading and (3) get your facts straight. You missed the whole central point of VVTi's article. Almost looks like you didn't even bother to read the article. The article clearly states that Toyota's in general that have performed poorly on the new crash test, not just the Prius. So far the poor crash test results are a Toyota vehicle problem, not just a Prius or hybrid problem.

  13. No, not at all. The manufacturers don't get to choose what crash test their cars will be put through, but all the manufacturers are informed well ahead of time by the IIHS of new test procedures and test protocols. For whatever reason, Toyota did not design or update their current range of cars to perform acceptably in this new crash test. . . .

  14. Warlord, I too hate to reply to your post because your post is nonsense. You're lecturing about facts, but you have provided no facts to back up your assertions. I invite you to try to prove my post wrong by providing FACTS this time, not your meaningless BS. So please, try again....with FACTS this time. Warlord, this is the exactly the kind of post that puts AutoLanka well below the standards of the the international forums. Everything you wrote here is wrong. It's pure BS. And if you think your comments are correct, please provide facts and source links supporting your assertions. I'll even go first. Here are some FACTS about Prius crash safety: ---The 2010-2013 Prius has received a "Top Safety Pick" award (which is the IIHS second best safety award) every year from the IIHS: Source: http://www.iihs.org/...25&seriesid=566 ---The Prius performs poorly on one test, the new Small Overlap Crash Test. This test result is what prevented it from getting the IIHS top safety award, the "Top Safety Pick Plus" award. Source: http://www.greencarr...amry-fall-short Now, please provide some facts and links proving what you wrote is correct. Warlord, my comments are correct FACTS: Every single Toyota (including Lexus models tested a few months ago) tested by IIHS on the Small Overlap Crash Test has received a "Poor" crash test rating. This is a fact. It's not only the Prius like you think, but all tested Toyotas. Source: http://autos.yahoo.c...-001523428.html I have provided facts supporting what I wrote and even provided links and a video supporting my comments. On the other hand you wrote that: (1) Toyota engineered the Prius to "not make them crash safe" (2) so "Prius morons perish" (3) and Toyota did this to provide a "social service". Isn't what you wrote one of the "worst allegations one can make for an automaker"? Where are your facts? Where are your source links? If what you wrote is really true, please provide FACTS and SOURCE LINKS supporting your assertions. I've already done so. Now you do the same. I don't have to tell anyone what other forums I belong to. But I can see you really do need to visit a few international car forums to see how far below standards your posts are. So here is one to check out.... http://priuschat.com/forum/. . . .
