  1. Chaps, if the alternator has failed, it's not going to work by you turning it. The carburettor needs to be fixed by a professional. You can of course get a Hayes manual (which will help you identify the components) read up on stuff online and do it yourself but it's not as simple as you think. You might need to rebuild the carburettor, using a repair kit. This will also sort out the fuel consumption. I think you guys need to evaluate your own skills and separate out the tasks to ones you feel you can tackle and other which require professional help.

  12. bad so you say we have to do a deep restoration, ya we did most of our part to get it back to normal, we cant do more than it because we dont have the some tools to remove.if we have it we will do it for sure. your totally wrong ,i said we spent a small amount on the petrol because we were testing it.

  13. Though I havent been contributing, I have been following this thread. It seems there's not much restoration happening. You seem to be just cleaning the dust off it and running it till something happens. IMO a restoration would require going down to a deeper level starting from taking out all parts that are likely to have rusted/melted/decayed over the 7 years (correct me if i remember wrong) that the car was just sitting there. Unless you own a drilling rig there's nothing called 'free' fuel. Someone should be footing the bill somewhere down the line. Either you have a family member in some government post who is entitled to fuel vouchers/bonuses or a private company that foots the bill. If its the 1st, shame on you! If its the 2nd, well, not as shameful as it is disloyal to your company.

  14. how to adjust it?? i guess the restoration is done 60% , this car drinks petrol more than a muscle car . updates on 12 sat , and that car has a broken alternator just after we stop the car we have to turn the alternator to start it again.

  15. Best advice, teach your kids to behave in the car. Absolutely no ice cream, candy or gum in the car. If wife doesn't agree with you, get her to clean the mess soon after. Also get some spill proof drink bottles.I got a 3 year old and spotless leather interior.

  19. Why on earth do people put in aftermarket alloys, mufflers, radios, engine mods, etc, etc? It's because they want to personalize their vehicle. If everyone in the world kept their vehicle in stock specs, there would not be an aftermarket parts industry.
